Re: Oscar
Well they went for the right team but bought the wrong player.
If your going to spend big at Internacional you need Damiao to replace Torres.
But it appears that there looking for around 30-40 mill for him now so IMO they got a good deal on Oscar.
And LOL at people throwing there opinions around who flat out have seen the kid play once or twice.
His size doesn't matter just like I have said time and again about Silva and Mata and Kun and Cazorla if he goes there. If you are great technically which he is the you shine like the sun in the EPL.
IMO it would take him a lot longer to make a huge impact in Spain or Italy then in the EPL as technically gifted players are so lacking in that league when they get one all the Brits mouths drop wide open in awe of someone who can hold onto the ball and dribble.
I'm glad he went there though, the EPL could use some more flair.
And I guess I will have to be the one to piggyback on my last positing in the "can't beat em, buy em" thread.
If this were City they would be getting bashed by half of you. In this thread you can actually talk about his impact was it a good buy etc etc without half the people on here insulting the club and there Arab owners.

Not really..You got dominated in both legs against Benfica, you got totally outplayed against Napoli(they had majority of the possession too) at San Paolo..You had to be attacking against Napoli in the return leg because you had no other option.
To sum up Chelsea's tournament, yes it was won mainly on Chelsea's 'park the bus' exploits.

Yep because Chelsea's CM area is brimming with movement and creativity.
He will walk into the team.

Oscar imo has potential to play well as a 'false nine'. He may not get an immediate starting in the Chelsea side though he will eventually in this season.

i think eventually lampard should start seeing more of the bench
he isnt the player once was
should leave space for younger players to come in

Re: Oscar
Just like I said in my last post, this thread is a bunch of people who have never seen him play saying he's to small for the EPL and he wont start blah blah blah. Now that you have actually seen him play are you still sticking to your lame theories the same one about Kun, Silva, Mata etc etc. I mean some of you EPL fans are like a broken record.
Listen, some of you premfaces really need to watch some different leagues other then the EPL.
It's no surprise Oscar went out there and looked like a brilliant footballer he is one and has been on fire for the last year or so plus he's only 20.
Some of you would know that if you didn't sit around watching the EPL and just telling everyone the BRazilian league isn't as good as the EPL and there players are overrated if they want more then 15 mill for them and Jack Wilshire is the best young talent out there.
HE WILL WALK INTO CHELSEA'S team and pretty much any midfield in the EPL.
PLEASE, PLEASE watch some other leagues so you can know about these players before your teams buy them and then you never have to go through this cycle of saying they wont make it in the EPL because there too small or wont hold up or whatever the popular theory is on each player to them tearing the league up and you telling us how good they are and then overrating them.
It's and endless cycle with EPL fans. Not only don't they not watch other leagues but they insult them as well without ever watchin`g them, it's amazing.

He may not start right away but he'll become a starter by mid season. I'm confident about that.vanDEEZ wrote:Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:vanDEEZ wrote:you guys are kidding yourselves if you think hes going to start next season.

I have to wonder how the defensive will cope if they line up so offensively and more importantly change their mentality.
Agreed. Even in pre-season poor/average teams have been able cut through our midfield and get in behind our defense with ease.
With so many defensive liabilities in the team I'm interested in how RDM is going to approach games this season. Sitting back & hitting on the counter won't work this year.I am sure they will be much better in the PL, but defeating teams in the CL came not by outgunning so it will be very interesting to see what approach will be taken in these games.
This Chelsea side is no longer a win now team although Abramovich may have something to say about that.
The 3 most important games which decieded everything, so I think its important to point out.
Agree about the rest.

Mikel is not relevant as he's a DM, Lampard isn't relevant either as he's the deep CM.
Essien lol, he hardly played last year and is passed it what makes you think he will start games this time lol?
The only player who could bench him is Ramires but in the football Chelsea plan to play Oscar would or should bench him everytime.
Also unproven? he's played and dominated some of the best midfields on the international stage ffs and is an unquestionable starter for Brazil.
but for anyone to say he will 'walk right in' is ridiculous, he hasnt even played a single match for chelsea.
Fantastic logic Hazard to the bench
