Fair result, I'd say. PSG were undoubtedly the better side for the first 25 or so minutes and we were absolutely all over the place, but after that - particularly in the second half - we were in control. Can't comment on PSG's team, but the side we started with was without many of our key players in Ivanovic, Terry, Cole, Ramires, Mata, and both of our strikers in Torres and Sturridge. It's no coincidence that after some of our more seasoned players went on, we started to get a foothold in the game.

It should now be clear to everyone that we're a side very much in a transition, and the supporters shouldn't have unrealistic expectations for the near future. We're trying to integrate new personnel, with new tactics, playing a newer style. I'm pleased with the way we progressively got into the match today, but there are still many things to improve on moving forward.

As for the newbies and youngsters, it was nice to see Piazón get his first senior Chelsea goal, and Marin and Hazard played well too, but we need much more out of Lukaku. The lack of someone competent up front right now was very much on display tonight, and was one of the main problems for us in this match. I'm anxious to see how our new creative players link up with someone who has better movement off the ball making the clever runs and finding space in the way Lukaku just hasn't thus far.

All in all and overall though, a decent performance.

I only just got home so have to wait for CTV to put the full match up. I've read Marin did quite well. Not really suprised that we were dominated at the start with the amount of deadwood we had on the pitch.
