Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness is pleased to see that his Fifa counterpart Sepp Blatter has come under scrutiny following the latest corruption scandal within world football's governing body.
The 60-year-old believes it's time for a fresh start within the governing body after it became public that former president Joao Havelange had accepted bribes, and is adamant that the Swiss official has to go in order to clean things up.
At last a number of people dare to attack him, including some members of the international press," Hoeness told reporters.
"I don't think that the situation will calm down for him. A fresh start within the organisation is only possible without him.
"I like the DFB's stance on all this, and Bayern fully support the DFB. The net around Mr Blatter is slowly closing. I can't see him staying in his position as Fifa president until the end of his term.
"People are only now reacting like this because he had gathered nothing but friends around him. You can't expect the people who have always benefited from his dealings to attack him.
"However, I don't think he'll survive in office after all this."
Blatter had angered the DFB with his comments that the hosting rights for the 2006 World Cup were possibly bought, leading to intensified attacks in the German p[/quote]ress.
Re: Sepp Blatter (The dictator)
I like this from hoeness, but I fear Bayern will now be targeted by the corrupt evil force that is blatter and his minions, That man should be in jail!
doubt it when he goes FIFA will be clean from corruption. Just look at former president before Blatter, he was corrupt also. This kind of people always have their own connections and if FIFA replace blatter with someone else, they will just appoint his friend (from the same group). If we want to clean up FIFA, we need to replace everything in the board of directors.
