Re: Ramos' penalty miss features in a third year university physics exam paper

This is what I think...
Bear in mind I haven't actually done this topic :L. I forgot to mention where braylann says gravity becomes negligible and it breaks free, but it doesn't get that high anyway. And I don't know how to adjust it for the varying gravitational field strength...
Maybe dos can help and do it relativistically

And yes, I completely ignored significant figures :L.

Potential wrote:Although I admire your work, you're wrong.
11180 is not the speed that the ball leaves the earth atmosphere.
You cannot use that law, using the conservation of energy laws:
The rest should be correct though if you used the right velocity rather than the one you miscalculated.
Either way, good job if you're not a physics major![]()
Hey guy. I don't want to sound like a butt monkey but I'm not quite sure what you are talking about. First of all, I wasn't working in radians but in degrees. Also, I never said 11180 is the speed the ball leaves the Earths atmosphere.
If you want to talk science, then don't troll please. Put up a real sheet of calculations and do the work and explain what I did wrong. I stand by my work. As I said, I don't think this is a "right" answer, but an explanation for a already vague question that was obviously meant to be a joke.

some energy also goes into the balls rotation, not to mention the force of air drag slowing it down.

Hey guy. Your number is wrong. I also used constant acceleration equation, so I agree with your approach, it was exactly the same as mine. I see what I did wrong. I accidentally doubled the distance and forgot to take into consideration the drop. In fact, it is half of what I first said.
3.19 x 10^6 or 3,190,000 M
Not enough to hit the space station.

We cant calculate the energy in the balls rotation with the information given, also considering that we would need an acceleration number for a force number, but those two informations are irrelevent since the ball leaves with an initial velocity
and the question says without taking into consideration friction of air, so Im guessing the ball wouldn't slow down due to friction until it hits the ground. But that is for another day.

How could I've missed this thread?
Good job braylann. Damn, I hoped Ramos hit something at least

He calculates without air friction, of course. If air friction was into play the ball would explode at the velocity needed to leave the earth orbit. It's made of leatherspanky489 wrote:some energy also goes into the balls rotation, not to mention the force of air drag slowing it down.

Newton's 6th Law states that the World Cup is not proof of being not sucky, just a statistic that WOMEN can use to act like they know soccer

On topic, winning a WC is really hard. Argentine was sucky.

Babun Argentina has 2 world cups (6 if we consider Uruguay to be part of Argentina, as I do), not 1

Newton's Law x = forum friction.
Also, if you bothered to visit the thread I posted before you'd know there're at least 7-10 people with more than basic knowledge here

haha 7-10 out of how many????
Honestly it wasn't an insider argie joke. Hasn't anyone had the experience (the one I get ALL the time) where you are talking football, usually during a major tournament like the EUROS, WC, or CA...and all of a sudden a bunch of retards and women get into soccer. And of course I big up Argentina and proof that all argentines suck = brasils 5 cups, and germany's 4-0 win. I mean, REALLY? thats what the joke was about, maybe i shouldve been more clear
