So did England die?
The way some of you talked about their team before the Euros , you wound confuse their participation as an actual suicide attempt..
just have to say some many people on the Internet would be eating their words now, big time...
For a team that everyone ruled out, their Organizational Defense is the BEST so far in the Euros, France were only scary when they shot from far.. infact IMO England did a better job in defense splitting plays than the French... got to say it was ok for an "average side"
and england did what Barcelona could not even do this season, shut down Benze

Re: So did England die?
England defended very well but their tactics going forward were non-existent.

It was pretty solid IMO,
they just needed more composure, if you actually paid attention, they could split the french anytime they wanted but the finishing was kinda poor,, would get better as with Woy's team
and don't forget the ref was fvcking England hard

Re: So did England die?
Parking the bus is of course will make your defense good but did you see how awful England attack was ?

Chill bro, I'd ignore him he thinks hes spanish and all that shizzle.
Compared to Chelski's CL game/s not really parking bus at all, I wish Parker had some passing ability .

Finishing? What finishing? According to UEFA's stats, England had one shot on target (the goal) and just two off it. There was nothing to finish, England created no chances apart from the goal and Milner's semi-break-away.
England needed other attacking options than playing it on the ground and those were not there. Carroll would have provided them. Fact.

Re: So did England die?
no I did not mean as in shots, more like final play in total.
@ Abramovich, I wish Wilshere was not injured, Milner would not have played

That just shows England were poor in terms shooting.

Re: So did England die?
LOL WUT we hardly created anything as we have in every game so far under Hodgson we defend very well but from a creative stand point its non-existent.
We wont be able to score goals from 1 shot on target every game.

Re: So did England die?
You guys have watched Roy's teams before, right?
Get used to 9 players behind the ball at all times and two very compact lines of four in midfield and defense.
England created nothing, and they were lucky to snatch a goal. The midfield is absolutely hamstrung thanks to Hodgson's tactics. This will be the norm, though. It's not a one-off because they were playing a French team that had looked good in the last few international matches.
France was coasting in this match. They looked absolutely disinterested at times. England on the other hand was engaged and on edge from the first whistle. How many times did you see French attackers standing just outside the English box watching one player try to beat a defender? France need to turn it on. England were lucky they faced them in the first matchday. I'm not even convinced an in-form Rooney can fix the problems with England.
Get ready for the face-rubbin' to begin when England can't break down Ukraine.

Re: So did England die?
Even Hodgson must realize at some point that wing-play and crosses are England's best hope of creating chances. Right? Right???
Wings are anyway the area where England have got most speed and skill (Ox, Walcott, Young, Glen Johnson, Ashley Cole) so use them!

Re: So did England die?
England was booring. Even Italy doesnt play like that anymore.. booring to watch.
So if France didnt penetrate Englands defense, was it then wrong for them to shoot from distance - which was dangerous?
21 - 5 shots

Maybe Chelsea should hold off appointing Di Matteo. They might be able to lure Hodgson away from the England job in a few matches.
