Would you be in favor?
AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has scheduled talks with UAE prime minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
La Stampa says the pair will meet on June 14 with Milan sure to be on the agenda.
Sheikh Mohommmed is worth US$16 billion and the prospect of buying into Milan is expected to be raised by Berlusconi
theres also an article on calciomercato.
im not saying for berlusconi to sell the whole team to this guy, because we have to have some sort of heritage by having an italian owner. but selling a god part of the shares to this sheikh isnt a bad idea is it? im sure we would have at least MINIMUM 50M to spend each transfer period. i would be down for it. im sure some of you would be skeptical, but imagine it happens, and the star players comme rolling in, im sure we would all be ecstatic lol

Re: Would you be in favor?
^^lol^^
You know what the funny part is ? If Berlusconi wants to , he can call a share capital increase within Milan and bang, make our transfer budget really huge.
What's even more funny , is that this is within the rules of the FFP.
But for some reasons he doesn't or hasn't so far , though he covered the loses which is still a huge move . Anyway,
maybe , if he is going there to sell some of the shares to the Sheikh , so he could participate in a share increase capital , then Galliani would have serious money to spend this summer . Plus , we would definitely keep our best players.
Or , he could be going there to discuss some sort of a huge sponsorship deal about Milan , which is also within the FFP and we could use these money with no problems in the transfer market .
Let's wait and see , it could also mean nothing really and he's going there for some exotic bunga-bunga nights

Re: Would you be in favor?
50 M in Galliani's hands is like 100 M in anyone else's.
We'll still probably get a couple 'champions' that happened to be free though
I'm totally down though, as long as B&G stay in control for the most part.

yup read that too and he said he wants 3 of his people on the Milan board.
35% is excellent, berlusconi is still majority holder but now we also have a rich ass whos gonna pump some money in our transfer funds, via mega sponsorship deal or n e way else.
i just have a question for those who know a little bit more than me in this department.
lets say berlusconi agrees to this and the sheikh controls 35% of the team, how long will it take around (paperwork, to make things official type of thing) for it to come in effect. example, will the process be fast enough that we can start using his money right away in the summer transfer, or it will be a long process and we cant do nothing until january? somebody enlighten me

It depends on many levels and i guess some bureaucracy issues could occure . Assuming Milan and the Sheikh come up to an agreement and they work out club issues pretty fast ,let's say 1 month , the Italian government , i think , must give authorisation for a foreign invester to buy , or something similar , and this could take either forever or 1 day , noone could say .
But anyway , i think it's very early and premature to draw any conclusion right now , nothing official or concrete , so far.

Re: Would you be in favor?
Perhaps the expectation of receiving 500 mil in the future will make Berlu spend now to make the fans happy.
Wishful thinking?

Seems legit , but it doesn't change the subject Rossonero raised . We really wouldn't have bought him if it weren't for free .

Re: Would you be in favor?
I read the most lolworthy headline today - Corriere dello Sport "MILAN. I soldi per Ronaldo."
It went on to say that Al Maktoum wants 25% of the club for 200 million euros to help Berlusconi realise the dream of signing Ronaldo.
