Dov'è Domenico?
"Where is Domenic Adiyah?"
Depending on how good your memory is, this query will raise one of three further questions...
1. Who the hell are you talking about?
2. I know who he is, but why should I care where he is?
3. I know where he is, but why are you making a thread about this now?
Here's the answer to question one...
Ok, so onto the answer to question two:
Why should you care about this guy? I mean, Bonera doesn't get a thread just for being a Milan player. The thing is that we all had pretty high hopes for this guy after the U20 WC...
Before we bought him, this is what he had achieved...
- Ghana Premier League Most Exciting Player: 2007–08
- FIFA U-20 World Cup Golden Ball: 2009
- FIFA U-20 World Cup Golden Shoe: 2009
- CAF Young Player of the Year: 2009
- Ghana Player of the year: 2010
- FIFA U-20 World Cup Gold Medal: 2009
- African Youth Championship Gold Medal: 2009
- Africa Cup of Nations Silver Medal: 2010
- Tippeligaen Silver Medal: 2008 (Fredrikstad)
Since being purchased by Milan, he has never played for the first team. Instead, he's been sent out on loans to 4 different clubs, with only 28 apps and 1 goal to his name since the winter transfer period in the 2009-10 season.
This is where it becomes tricky. Despite being worse than mediocre at club level, he is very much actively involved with the Ghanaian team. Everyone remembers Suarez' foray into goalkeeping in the 2010 World Cup for Uruguay, but few know the name of the player who would have scored the winner if Suarez had kept his hands down - that's right, Domenic Adiyah.
In fact, Adiyah's national team record is superb, with 8 goals in 7 games for U20 and 5 goals in 16 apps for the Black Stars.
Finally to Q3, why make this thread now?
Recently, Ghana played a friendly against another, lesser-known African country, Lesotho. Needless to say that Ghana won 7-0 against this team which is sandwiched between the Bahamas and India on the FIFA rankings at #156. I was reading through the match report, where I found that non only did Muntari score the opener, but that Adiyah, this other long-forgotten Milan player, who I thought had faded into obscurity forever, got on the scoresheet at 26' and 49'. And that's what got me thinking about this.
I've been left wondering whether this was just bad scouting on our behalf or Adiyah's failure to succeed under the weight of big club expectations? Or maybe something else? In any case, the story of Domenic Adiyah is truly one of the most puzzling I've ever seen unfold.
Thanks for reading. Any comments or explanations are very much appreciated.

Here's the answer to question one...
Dominic Adiyiah (born 29 November 1989) (age 22) is a Ghanaian professional footballer, who plays as a striker for Ukrainian Premier League club Arsenal Kyiv...
...on loan from A.C. Milan of Italy.

Re: Dov'è Domenico?
I just think he isn't made for a big club.
Literally, I mean we loaned him to a second division Turkish team for f**ks sake.

Re: Dov'è Domenico?
that's so vague though, and not really supported by any stats. in fact, he's never performed well for any club. so my question is, why is that so when he is great for the NT?BiasedMilanFan3 wrote:I just think he isn't made for a big club.

Re: Dov'è Domenico?
I don't need stats to support my claim.
We can all see he sucks playing for clubs.
Why he plays well for Ghana, not even BMF3 knows the answer to that question

Re: Dov'è Domenico?
I've occasionally remembered him and checked how he was doing at the various places we have loaned him to but he just has never done anything. He was with the Ukraine club Arsenal Kyiv this past half of a season and did nothing. But he always seems to do well with Ghana, maybe we should take him along on some of our friendlies to see what he can do with us

Re: Dov'è Domenico?
My best guess is that he was terribly over rated . He couldn't even keep a starting place in the primavera ffs .
He should have returned by now anyway . With Pato and Sharaawy being important to our future and with some really interesting forwards emerging from the primavera , like Comi & Ganz , i can't see room for him so ,
good luck in your next club , Adinah
