Re: Former Player: Bastian Schweinsteiger
*sighs* Players just can never win when being interviewed nowadays... If he says "Mou is good", he disrespects Jupp, if he says "Naw, not interested in Mou", he'd be arrogant and disrespects Mou. If he says "No comment", he's be an arrogant pr*ck, too...Aensensen wrote:Schweini a bit disrespectful imo. Towards Jupp and his team.
"I have to admit that I see Mourinho as an excellent coach. Unfortunately he doesn't speak German. Either way, I believe Mourinho is a coach who would definitely be successful with Bayern," Schweinsteiger told Bild.
"I would very much like it if Bayern think of Mourinho if we are ever in the market for a new coach."
If this was an answer to a question, then it's not disrespectful, but as a statement it IS a BIT disrespectful imo.
But don't get me wrong, I like Schweini.
The problem is that one can't really translate the German modal particles. Schweinsteiger said "irgendwann mal" and using the "mal" there puts it as a rather distant possibility.
You might want to read up on "modal particles" to understand why it is so problematic to translate statements that contain them. One reason why people often think that Germans are very blunt or even impolite is that modal particles can't be translated and they are so important to convey moods and nuances: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_modal_particle
Einmal, shortened mal (literally: once, translation roughly: "for once") also indicates a certain immediacy to the action or even implies a command. On the other hand, it can give a kind of casualness to a sentence and so making it sound less blunt.

wut? If anything Mourinho brought our soul back.
Not surprised with this response to be honest. Eye poking a man with cancer? Constantly causing a scene and insulting people? The man is a bordeline disgrace. Is this what your club stands for? Even ex players are still saying that Madrid are turning into a show. Constant figting with players, dividing th team into spanish and portuguese groups. There is a reason that even your own fans boo your team. A club as big as Madrid should not rely on counter attacking as a weapon when they have such a bad defence.
Madrid has become Moudrid. Then again MAdrid lost it's soul since the generalissimo, Franco, used your club to control the populace. The same Mourniho that was yoyoing on leaving at the end of the season? That is Madrid's soul? Football is truly experiencing dark days, when a club of Real's stature becomes so desperate that it hires the football equivalent of Heath Ledger's joker.

In my 20 or so years of being a football fan, Madrid were revered as high class and winners, before Mourinho they were losing in a losing streak already the team began growing bitter and Mourinho did seal the deal by downgrading the teams honor in return for more trophies. I live in Spain and many of Madrid fans have been talking about this for the past two years so try not to deny it.

Bayern didn't have a nearly as good squad back then, though. Those were Ottl and Lell-days.

i would never run a team "without" a true midfield destroyer. Let alone, only 1 to play. At least 2 pure ones needed in my philosophy. rotate them or bench

Re: Former Player: Bastian Schweinsteiger
Schweinsteiger is a out of shape, Sammer looks fitter than him, we definitely need a new midfielder desperately and I think he should break up with his Girlfriend, she's not helping us at all.
Re: Former Player: Bastian Schweinsteiger
Loool
I think that's just a bad pic. He is out of shape, but not literally .
Needs to get his fitness back up to being at 100%. Those annoying injuries totally killed his performances last season.
We should totally go for Sahin. Time to prove his "I'll be better than Schweini" comment.

Re: Former Player: Bastian Schweinsteiger
To think Piggy gets 10M+ Salary. This is becoming a joke. He's had one Bumper 09-10 season & an amazing World Cup. Other than that he has been good in patches.
Sometimes great,sometimes average,sometimes injured.
This cant go on. We have Kroos now. If this goes on he will get benched & be unhappy. Its sad because he is the soul of Bayern. But only him is to be blamed.

Re: Former Player: Bastian Schweinsteiger
Bad news again - in today's Liga Total match, Schweinsteiger injured his ankle again. It is not yet sure how bad it is this time.
Update: Heynckes just said it isn't so bad according to the doc

Well, he tries to

How highly do you rate Schweinsteiger?
Is he the most complete player in the world? He had a relatively bad season by his standards last season, but it was mainly because of constant injuries so he was never healthy long enough to regain his best form, similar to Pato's problems. But I see him as being able to dictate play better than anyoneexcept for Pirlo and Xavi, but is more complete than them with his workrate, versatility, and defensive ability. What do you guys think of him? Is he still considered a top midfielder after this season? I consider him to be, but I would like to know how others rate him.
