Someone give me an update on Alaba
I know he's been playing well etc, is he confirmed as Bayerns #1 penalty taker?
Some of my premface mates think that Badstuber is the starting LB for Bayern

Re: #27 - David Alaba
David Alaba is the starting LB at Bayern. Holger Badstuber only stood in for the boy when he was injured (Alaba suffered a stress fracture in one foot last year). Badstuber is a designated (L)CB, but he is still out after some major ligament injury and following surgery on his knee. From the reports it seems as if Stubsi's recovery is going well, and it seems he would like to return still within this season, but I have my doubts he will be fit enough before April/May.
AS for being Nr.1 penalty taker - well, he is one of the most self-assured penalty takers Bayern has, just like Thomas Müller.

He has balls of diamond.
I'm not surprised at his strength of will, it's a side-effect of philippino mothers.

He is GOAT, was awesome vs Arsenal.
Looks like a proper LB even though he was a CM before.

Alaba's identical twin freekick goals against Stuttgart (7th February) and against Braunschweig in the Pokal (4th March)

The kid is still only 22 ffs.
If he doesn't win the Ballon D'Or at some point in his career, I will personally hunt down, kidnap and torture the managers and captains of all national teams, along with Jordi Alba, the latter just for shits and giggles.

How has my boy been doing btw?
Is he playing CB? How important is he now to the team? One of the better players in the team I assume???

Re: #27 - David Alaba
BILD claiming he's about to sign the long awaited contract extension.
This would keep him contracted to FC Bayern until at least 2021.
I so much hope this news is true.
From the bulk of important players who extended in winter - Boateng, Müller, Martinez, before Thiago - Alaba was conspicuously absent, and it had started to get me worried.
It's not a secret he's one of our most important players, and it's not a secret that literally every European top club would want to buy and sign him without hesitation.
So this contract extension would not at all be a mere formality, but a big success, huge news.

Re: #27 - David Alaba
I wonder if his signing will be under the condition that he will be moved into a midfield position where he repeatedly stated that he'd prefer to be.

I don't think anyone can guarantee him that.
And I don't think he's better there than at LB.
Cannot see Carlo play him anywhere else than at LB tbh.
The thing is, if he was thinking about leaving and going elsewhere to play in midfield at last, I don't think that would work for him either.
I'm pretty sure Real and Barca want him pretty badly, but I'm equally sure he'd be playing LB, not midfield for them.
So with regard of that position wish thing, I don't think he would gain anything from moving.
He'll just have to deal with the fact that for the top teams, he's more valuable as full back than as midfielder.
Ironically, Pep's variable use of Alaba as LB or CB got him as much involved in midfield play as he can probably hope for.

Re: #27 - David Alaba
True. There are midfielders galore, but so few great fullbacks, so he will likely have to deal with it that he'll stay as FB XD
