The Ashley Cole Appreciation Thread
What a wonderful wonderful footballer. He's just the complete package, the most well rounded fullback I've seen bar one Paolo Maldini. Formidable in defence and always an outlet going forward, he's a champion through and through. When he stepped up to take his penalty tonight there was no doubt in my mind, the ball was always going into the net. He's a big game player who doesn't let anything get to him - the boo boys, tabloid stories, it doesn't matter, he just gets on with his game. Tonight he showed once again why he is the best left back in the world. He has been for years. My man of the match.

He was partially at fault for Chelsea's goal but he saved them many times during the match aswell. Evens it out.

Re: The Ashley Cole Appreciation Thread
Partially ? Who else are you blaming ? Bosingwa or whatever lol for letting the cross in ? Or cech for letting the goal in ?
Because Ashley cole completely lost his player and this gave up what could have been the game winning goal.

LB... defender...a defender is an outfield player whose primary role is to prevent the opposition from attacking. Cashley!

Dont know what your talking about,he was at fault for the goal.
He had a great good game apart from that but a mistake which almost costed them the trophy? hard to ignore.

The man was boss. Respect.

Shit all season...... 2 good games and no one comes close ( will the knee jerking ever end )
He was'nt even that good either as he was at fault for the goal and relied alot on Bertrand's defensive cover.

Re: The Ashley Cole Appreciation Thread
The positives far outweight the negatives, Cole was an absolute boss last night. He was even better against Barcelona, constantly barking orders at Bosingwa and Mikel, telling them what to do at every turn, as well as making countless blocks/tackles himself. And if it wasn't for his goal line clearance in Naples they wouldn't have been there at all. What I admire most though is his bottle, nothing fazes him. Psychology plays such a massive part in penalty taking, and Cole definitely has the total single mindedness so often associated with Germans. We saw him do it in Euro 2004, we saw him do it in Moscow 2008, and we saw him do it again last night - step up and deliver. He was never missing that penalty.

Re: The Ashley Cole Appreciation Thread
Well he's right.
Amazing amount of knee-jerking going on after this CL final.
Credit to Cole for being decent in the final (despite giving up a goal ) and being pretty good in the semi-finals.
Other than that I can't really say much about him.

Ashley Cole @TheRealAC3
@iSpeakChelsea @chelseafc #askash I think that would be Steven Gerrard, about 5 years ago. Great player for Liverpool & England.
