Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Giroud will get enough playing time at arsenal, RVP played almost 50 games last season and with Euros now he will be burnt out if we keep playing him like last season and knowing his injury history and our backups not performing. Giroud would easily get game time

Assuming RVP stays already? I'm not sure he's staying.
Front 3 of
Walcott Giroud Podolski
looks quite possible.
Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Can RVP not play in that role right behind Giroud with poldi and walcott next to him ? Out second lineup would consist of chamak (ground), with gervinho (podolski) , rosicky (RVP), chambo ( walcott) as the backup? Then you have players like arshavin and Campbell that van playanywhere if needed.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to pull the plug on a move for Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila.
The Sunday Mirror says talks stalled over a big-money move for Rennes star M'Vila.
And now Wenger is ready to look elsewhere rather than wait to strike terms for £17million-rated M'Vila.

Manchester City want £10 million for Nigel de Jong.
The Daily Star Sunday says there is a four-year-contract offer on the table for De Jong, 27 at £95,000-a-week.
But as he has only one year remaining on his current deal, City will look to sell him for £10million if he doesn’t sign.
Inter Milan, Arsenal and QPR are watching developments.

Quick question Sam. What makes you sure that Walcott be around next season to continue playing on the wing, when you are inclined to think RvP might not be staying? With all the focus of RvP's contract, what have we heard about Theo and Song?

Stoke City are delighted with their capture of former Arsenal fullback Ben Glasgow.
Stoke nipped in for the 18-year-old right-back after Arsenal declined to offer him a full professional contract.
He has instead agreed a development contract at Stoke to play for their new under-21s team which will come into being next season if, as expected, the club wins Category A status for its Academy.
Stoke's Academy director David Wright said: "He is a player I have watched personally and, coming from Arsenal, he clearly has a fine background and pedigree.
"He is a London boy, but has played at youth level for Ireland."

The battle for Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski is becoming more crowded.
Poland coach Franciszek Smuda stated yesterday he expected Lewandowski to join Manchester United.
However, the Daily Mail says a trio of other Premier League giants have been tracking Lewandowski. Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea are all keen on the striker, who helped Dortmund to retain their Bundesliga title last season.

Arsenal are launching a bid for Malaga striker Salomon Rondon.
The £15million-rated striker was Malaga’s top scorer last season and helped them to their first appearance in the Champions League.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has already signed Lukas Podolski and is looking at all options to take the pressure off Robin van Persie to make him stay, says the Daily Star Sunday.

Zenit St Petersburg are ready to push through a deal for Arsenal midfielder Andrey Arshavin.
The Daily Star Sunday says Arshavin was loaned out in February to Zenit after dropping down the pecking order at Arsenal.
He played TEN games, scored three goals and has said he would not discuss his future until after the Euros.
Zenit are now willing to match Arsenal’s asking price for Arshavin, 31.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Arsenal face a huge battle to land Yann M'Vila after it was revealed Barcelona are also showing an interest in him.
The Rennes midfielder is thought to be Arsene Wenger's number one target as he looks to bring in a new midfielder this summer and news of Barcelona's interest will not go down well.
At one stage the talented 21-year-old was reported to be closing in on a £17million move to the Emirates Stadium but Wenger denied a deal was imminent.
Since then Inter Milan have declared their interest, but more significantly it has now been revealed that Barcelona have sent scouts to watch him in action.
Wenger may still feel confident of striking a deal if he can guarantee him a regular place in the Gunners midfield but interest from the Spanish giants could certainly throw a spanner in the works.

Arsenal are prepared to keep hold of Robin van Persie, even if he doesn't sign a new contract.
The Sunday Mirror says the Gunners fear striker Van Persie will not sign a new deal, but are prepared to hold him to the final year of his contract rather than sell.
However, in the same way the sold Cesc Fabregas and Sami Nasri last summer, they will move him on if it becomes clear the Dutchman is willing to force the issue.
Juventus and Manchester City are leading the chase, while Real Madrid are also watching developments.
However, only the Italians can offer a clear escape route.
City are committed to selling before they buy and are ready to offload Edin Dzeko and Carlos Tevez, while Real need to cash in on Gonzalo Higuain before they can go shopping.
Juve are ready to offer £25million-plus and want Van Persie as a stellar signing as they prepare to return to the Champions League as Italian champions, but they will not match the personal terms of above £200,000-a-week that City can pay.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Arsenal could reportedly make a shock bid to re-sign Samir Nasri this summer, with Manchester City said to be ready to consider letting the midfielder leave the club.
According to L'Equipe, Man City boss Roberto Mancini is ready to listen to offers for Nasri, who joined the Premier League champions from Arsenal just twelve months ago.
Inter Milan have shown interest in the France international, along with Paris Saint-Germain.
After helping City to win their first top-flight title for over 40 years, Nasri last month insisted he had "made the right decision" by joining the Blues.
Although he was a popular figure at the Emirates Stadium, how welcome he would be should Arsene Wenger look to bring him back to north London remains to be seen, especially as a section of the club's fans are less than happy about comments he has made since his move to the north west.
But according to Metro, Wenger, who is looking to strengthen his squad this summer and has already signed Germany striker Lukas Podolski, could consider signing the 24-year-old for a second spell at the club.

Doesn't make sense. As grudgingly as I admit this, he's good but why would the fans want him back? Why would he want to come back? Wages? Price?

According to L'Equipe sources, Arsenal is going to make an offer for Giroud. Bad news in regards to RVP imo. But he's a very good player and he'll only cost 20-25 mil.
