How much are you expecting from his transfer?
Or would you prefer to keep him and make him see his contract out Razz

This is an update for the fans about my current situation. I have kept quiet all this time out of respect and loyalty for the club and as agreed with Mr. Gazidis and Mr. Wenger, but since there is so much speculation in the media, I think it is fair for you guys to know what’s really going on at the moment.

As announced earlier this year I had a meeting with the Boss and Mr. Gazidis after the season. This was a meeting about the club’s future strategy and their policy. Financial terms or a contract have not been discussed, since that is not my priority at all.

I personally have had a great season but my goal has been to win trophies with the team and to bring the club back to its glory days. Out of my huge respect for Mr. Wenger, the players and the fans I don’t want to go into any details, but unfortunately in this meeting it has again become clear to me that we in many aspects disagree on the way Arsenal FC should move forward.

I’ve thought long and hard about it, but I have decided not to extend my contract. You guys, the fans, have of course the right to disagree with my view and decision and I will always respect your opinions.

I love the club and the fans, no matter what happens. I have grown up and became a man during my time with Arsenal FC. Everybody at the club and the fans have always supported me over the years and I have always given my all (and more) on and off the pitch. I am very proud of being part of this fantastic club for the last 8 years. As soon as Mr. Gazidis is back from his 2-week holiday in America further meetings will follow and I will update you if and when there are more developments.

Just what the hell are Arsenal doing?

dont know wht to say.. this is really shocking news and i dont know what Gazidis and Wenger said to him. But this is really disappointing and depressing news to all Arsenal fans. If he leaves then we have lost two captains in one year :S

After publicly stating that he's had disagreements with Wenger and Gazidis, any chance of him seeing out his contract has pretty much gone.

The club has to sell him, and I can only hope it'll be abroad. Anywhere but City.

This will mean that we are selling club coz we cant hold on to our best players.. i mean look at spurs, they did everything to keep modric last year. look at milan how they kept silva. If rvp leaves then its pretty much clear that board is after money and not the success.

Time to listen to offers ? Go Go Manc, Chelsea, Spurs, Pool, Barca, Real, Bayer, Milan, Inter, Juve, Lazio, Ajax, PSG, Azhi. Seriously I don't care, *bleep* loyalty is dead, and now I don't want him to see out his contract, he can go fuk off partying with Cesc & Na$ri for all I care. Sell him, get me some big money to bring in world class AM or implant Jack and Abou with Wolverine bones, just do it. Giroud and Podolski will do your job.

Next one on his little agenda Theo Walcott.

No but in all seriousness, once again Stan and the board *bleep* it up. Oh wait, Stan wasn't even there, too busy teabagging his 4 other teams( or was that 5, I lost count), instead we have Ivan the bald clown ( no offense to the baldies) preaching about the prospect of how awesome it will be to win 4th place trophy again.

This is a disgrace, what the hell is Gazidis doing on holiday whilst the clubs best player is on the last year of his contract and now wants to leave?

Who will Arsenal sell him to? Juventus? Man City? Chelsea? Milan?

RvP Contract Talks - Page 5 Empty Re: RvP Contract Talks

Post by Jay29 Wed Jul 04, 2012 5:50 pm

I'm not even that depressed about the prospect of van Persie leaving. Yes, he's a world class striker but we can deal with the loss on the field. It's the fact that, apparently, whatever plans the board and Wenger have for taking the club forward have, yet again, failed to convince one of our best players to stay.

That fact really worries me and puts a dark cloud over the Podolski and Giroud signings, as it seems they were just replacements all along and not the club's attempt at really strengthening the squad in an attempt to convince it's best player to stay. I sincerely hope I'm proved wrong here, but I can't help but feel concerned that the club is going to continue to rest on its laurels.

Moreover, what about the other players? Walcott is in the same situation about his contract, as is Alex Song, I believe. What if they share the same issues about the club's direction?

I can't blame van Persie for wanting to leave, really. However, by making that statement public... that's pretty damning for the club, and hurts it on many levels. He didn't need to make that statement.

I guess one silver lining is that it's early in the window, so hopefully we can resolve this quickly and painlessly.

The worst part is van Persie did this too early in the summer, killing our buzz, now even Theo and Song will think twice before signing a new contract.

Money talks, all other clubs are paying big money for top players and we still struggle to pay over 100k. The oil money changed everything, if RVP wants trophies we have a good enouph team to win next year but I am sure like all others choose the money over club loyalty.

Its a *bleep* shame that the Arsenal board keeps losing captain after captain so they can save some more money.

Its time to say goodby to dick head Ivan donkey face Stan.

At the end of the day who the *bleep* is RVP compare to the rest of the players we have lost in the past. Like jay said I really dont take this news that bad. He will turn 29 when season starts and where ever he goes their fans will be getting heart attacks everything he goes down.

Raptor! At the end of the day, people who's hurt the most are the fans. The boards will come back to their cozy mansion, wipe their asses with the money and brag about how awesome they run this club. RVP will *bleep* off to some sugar daddy club, win some trophy then eventually lose his soul. We the fans are stuck here, don't know wtf is going on, blame left and right, head on to another rocky season with hope which inevitably lead to the usual disappointment. Such deja vu, such vicious cycle.

This divides the fans, too. One half will be angry at the club, the other will be angry at van Persie. And just when we were all becoming hopeful again and getting behind what the club were doing... back to square one. Again.

Van Persie will complete his move to #MCFC within two weeks. Fee of around £22m. Contract worth £225k per week already agreed. #AFC

I'll be bothered if he goes and joins City. If he goes to Juventus, Milan, Madrid or Barcelona or wherever, I won't care as much.

There's just something horribly gut-wrenching at the thought of van Persie playing for City, or any other English club.
