Ambrosini contract talks on hold
Massimo Ambrosini will have to wait until the end of the season before being told whether he will be handed a new contract at Milan.
The midfielder, who will be 35 in May, signed a one-year deal at the end of the last campaign and the same scenario may happen this time around.
“There is nothing to report on the contract front,” agent Moreno Roggi told Milan News. “There won’t be any time soon either.
“If the player does renew his contract at the club then that will only happen at the end of this present campaign.
“We are only in February now and it is too soon to discuss this situation.
“There is a certain bond between Ambrosini and Milan, but everything will be examined calmly at the end of the season.”
The former Italian international, who was signed by the Rossoneri in 1995 from Cesena, is understood to be of interest to Genoa.
Ambrosini, who could be available on a Bosman in June, has scored one goal in 15 Serie A appearances this term. He’s also been used four times in the Champions League.

yes, hes declined drastically, but he still showed a good performance here and there. i think well give him another year. gattuso will extend too, but seedorf, yepes and bommel are rather unlikely.

Re: Ambrosini contract talks on hold
This is why Gattuso is willing to play for free because if Milan don't offer Ambrosini an extension Gattuso won't get one either ... but he will since it'll be for free ... FREEEEE ... is like the super-man word for Galliani !

We can't just keep giving these guys year after year of extensions. It's time for a dignified exist from the old guard to let new blood come into the team, otherwise we will end up like Inter who are struggling in all competitions, have no speed at all and haven't scored a goal in 7 games.

Ii don't mind him moving on, however I also won't mind him staying for one more season with a reduced pay PLUS nothing more than a bench player. I mean if we accepted Muntari as a squad player why not Ambro.

I agree, Muntari has been getting lucky so far, but he will cost us a game at this rate.JespSwe wrote:no offense... ambro thanks for good times u should be leaving...

Re: Ambrosini contract talks on hold
I absolutely love Il capitano as I feel he was one of the most underrated midfielders of the decade and always provided for us when called upon for his all round ability and midfield command. Yet injuries and age have ravaged him as this year should be his swan-song as I prefer him to retire with us here.
I'll never forget his truly great final year which was with Leonardo's tenure in which he was an absolute general in big games for us.
But his time is up
