Re: England Euro 2012 Squad Announced
Joke of a selection! How on earth did the biggest flop of last season mr 20 million aka 0 assist and 0 goals in the league make the squad and Carroll make it, yet Carrick who had an amazing season and Sturridge don't make it? How the f.....?
Gerrard and Lampard again for the umpteenth time....effing hell.
Why no Micah Richards? No Lennon?
So annoyed with Hodgson... He's a joke.
The plus side is that Ox got picked along with Welbeck too.

Re: England Euro 2012 Squad Announced
Some serious over-reaction going on about this squad. There's a couple of debatable decisions - there always are - but it's not like we're blessed with a plethora of choices here.
I don't think anyone has been happy about an England squad in a long time. Hodgson has litterally been parachuted in and has to do the best with what he has. Maybe if he were able to watch the players for a year the squad may have been different.

no Grant Holt and Micah Richards
highest scoring Englishman after Rooney....
Downing, and Carroll included
England to finish 3rd in their group, with Sweden in second
Zlat to smash a hattrick vs England

Re: England Euro 2012 Squad Announced
watching england fail at this tournament might not be as fun as previous times. there's less hype from the fans and media this type cause now they have realised theyre no good. hoping they are fantastic in the group stages so all that hype comes back, premfaces come out of their cave and the lols begin when they get humiliated by germany or spain.

No realist in England thinks we will do that well. We just hope they will and try to support them. When we hype the team up it's just us getting behind the players.

You don't need to have watched all year to see that not taking Richards and Carrick is stupid. And taking Downing, a winger with 0 assists and 0 goals in the season is a ridiculous decision.

You guys wanna know how clueless Hodgson is? Just read what he said about Oxlade Chamberlaine below..
“He is a very exciting player who has made an impression on me, not least in his performance against AC Milan at the Emirates,” Hodgson said.
“I was there live and saw how well he dealt with Pirlo and Ambrosini. He can play wide or central and for future and can continue as he started.”

yeah i know. not mocking english people. i can tell most of them know theyre not favourties. there's just some arrogant british pundits i enjoy watching eg alan hansen and some delusional english supporters, like the first guy interviewed in this video
just find it interesting to see what they think if england were to get humiliated in the tournament,

Re: England Euro 2012 Squad Announced
Two or three wrong choices for a squad of twenty-three? Not exactly bad, is it?
Not selecting Richards is poor. That's undeniable. But at the very least, Jones is versitile, and Johnson was always going to be the starting right back.
Not selecting Carrick is questionable, but have we selected bad midfielders? Not particularly. It's the same group as usual.
Selecting Downing is poor, but is he going to start? Not likely. Young will be first choice on the left hand side, and there's the option of Chamberlain, too. Our other options are Johnson and Lennon. Not exactly great.
How many players out there could you add to that squad and genuinely make it better? Richards, Carrick maybe, and...?
This is what makes discussing England such a chore. People are never happy with the squad and act like a couple of questionable decisions is going to doom the whole squad to failure. Let's be realistic here. Any sqaud we take to any competition is doomed to fail, regardless of who is in charge. It's just a convenient opportunity to jump on a manager who has yet to even manage a game.

This is hilarious, but it can't be real, surely, no coach could be that thick.
I feel really sorry for Carrick, he's not getting any younger and when he should have been given the chance to lead the midfield he's been left behind.
At least Ox might get some time, however I'd have taken the youngest squad I could. Even if Sturridge had a poor second half this sort of experience can be invaluable.

I watched the press conference,he really did say that.
There's no excuse for Downing being in that squad.
