Congrats to Peru for reaching semi!

Colombia again failing in penalties. We didn’t deserve to go through anyway such a poor game all around. Zapata/Diaz should have either started or come on much earlier because Falcao ain’t it anymore

well all in all we did better than I thought we would. This is the logical result. We actually had a decent game should've scored a few times. After the 2nd goal the team was not mentally strong enough to survive (and the subs didn't help), but up until then I genuinely think we were better and they were luckier.

Our defending was laughable tho, especially Otamendi's

Also this is like the 3rd time Becker kicked out Messi in a knock-off? he has him in his pocket, unfortunately.

First goal was all Daniel Alves. The second was all Gabriel Jesus.

Di Maria was absolutely useless out there.

This guy was hugging the touchline like a 4-3-3 winger.

He was supposed to be a LCM in a 4-3-1-2.

I don't think I've seen a worse cameo in my life.

Oh well, at least the team didn't concede that many chances. Two moments of individual brilliance from Brazil won them the match, while Argentina missed the chances they had.

There's another Copa America next year. The likes of Aguero and Di Maria need to be booted out of the team and hire an actual coach instead of that pleb Scaloni and you can make a decent run IMO.

Argentina looked competitive after the first goal. Their shape was weird though. Aguero right, Laturo coming back to cover. Too often it was 7 defending and you just cant do that in the modern game.
Either way, all the seniors need to retire including Messi. Its clear they wont win with the old guard.
Hope Alves lifts the trophy for Brazil. Deserves it.

He can still give his best in knock-out games if you get rid him of defensive job
he' s a player for cups now, no need of motivations there
Good for 6 matches every year, but he is great in THOSE matches indeed

All in all the quality of this Copa was poor. From the quality of football and refereeing to the terrible pitches and venues.

We were also bad, but understandably so. I had zero hopes in winning Copa and making it to the semifinals against the probable champions is overachieving for this squad and this coach. Strange formations, strange line ups, strange substitutions.

I hope this is Di María's last appearance in the national team. I had heard all about how he had been playing sublime football at Paris but I guess doing well in provincial BPL doesn't mean jack. I would have preferred Lautaro replacing him on the left with Mauro playing more centrally.

Scaloni did well given his shortcomings but he is a second grade assistant coach in the end. Out.
