You could just you know, go press them, win it back and then try and keep it...sort of like Arsenal, Valencia, Bilbao..whatever.

You dont HAVE to do that if you dont want to, but to say our style makes people park the bus is frankly stupid.

You really think that would work out well for Chelsea?

They'd give it away, their defense would be all over the place, everyone would panic when Messi gets the ball, defense collapses.....grade A chance for someone.

You do what you do with the players you have.

You people are watching your own brand football I swear lol

Vs Chelsea from kick off, we got the ball and they instantly put 10 players in their own half behind the ball and they didnt come to get it at all.

They filled their entire half with 10 players..where do you think Barca are going to pass it? lol
what usually happens to those teams that DON'T park the bus? If Barca is in form they can slaughter any team that "attacks" them, just like they did Man U in the CL. I back the way Chelsea played 100%, it may not be pretty, but what was the score in the end? That is all that matters.

Read what I said man....

I said, they dont have to do that...I said, they dont have the players to do that..I already said all that.

However again, to say we "make" everyone park the bus is stupid.

Barca's style coalesced with a lack of suitable players for the opposing team forces the opposing team to play defensive football.

Seems about right.

Still dont agree.

You can play defensively or you can play offensively.

Chelsea have the ability to attack everyone else, but not us? No, thats not true. They can attack us, they just dont want to because they know they will leave space down the other end.

So instead of keeping the ball, getting men forward..they go direct, making sure the majority of their players dont go too far out of position and look to get a goal on the counter with those 2, 3 players or win a set piece.

They dont have to do that..they choose to.

Again, thats up to them..they can play how they like, they dont have a responsibilty to play that way.

But we dont force anything on them.

They choose to do it because it's the most feasible way to approach the game.

When you hike to the top of a waterfall you have 2 options

a. Jump off and hope you don't die.
b. Hike your way back down.

No one is forcing you to do anything but one option is obviously the more logical.

Yeah, so then its not Barca's football "designed to make the opposition park the bus" its them making a choice because they are have lesser players.

Lesser players is relative as well.

I bet those great Milan/Juventus defenses of the early 2000's would've played defensively as well , dosen't mean they had lesser players.

They wouldve executed on their few attacks better with Nedved and Del Piero but overall they wouldve still played primarily defensive football.

People need to start appreciating defense.

Well first of all, yes, they were lesser players..not quite as lesser, but none the less yes.

Those teams played different in big games than small ones, for this very reason.

Against small teams, your better, so your expansive...against teams at your level, take less risks and defend more.

Its a style, people are fully entitled to do it.

People respect defensive skill..but this is a spectactor sport and that cant be ignored.

Which game was better, Bayern and Madrid were both teams attacked or Chelsea and Barca where only one team did?

Obviously Bayern-Real.

But that's more due to the gulf in class between the players rather than Chelsea's defensive approach.

I guarantee you watching you guys beat them 7-0 would've been just as boring lol.

A defenive approach , with better players in execution, could be very exciting against a team like Barca.

I thought you would be a little less casual in terms of the fact that it's a spectator based sports....it's that very fact that drives the PL towards being a chaotic tactic-less mess.
