Juve: Cavani or Suarez?
Juventus are reportedly looking to Uruguay for next season, as it’s a race between Liverpool’s Luis Suarez and Napoli hero Edinson Cavani.
The Bianconeri confirmed they want to reinforce their attack to compete in the Champions League and will bring in at least one big-name hitman.
According to Italian newspapers, the main targets are Uruguayan internationals Cavani and Suarez.
Tuttosport claim this morning that director of sport Fabio Paratici has already been in contact with Cavani’s agent Angelucci.
Juve have reportedly offered €2.3m per season wages, doubling what he currently earns at Napoli, and a transfer fee of €60m could be enough to prompt a sale.
The Turin giants would also be able to include players as part of the deal, such as Milos Krasic or Felipe Melo. Even more likely is that Juve would sell their half of Under-21 international striker Ciro Immobile, who is doing well in Serie B with Pescara.
The other option for the Bianconeri is Suarez, who has had a troubled campaign at Liverpool due to problems on and off the field.
He is thought to be unhappy in the Premier League and his price-tag is €30m, but the wages could be an issue, as he would demand at least €3.5m per season.
€60m is a bit much to hand over to Napoli but he might be worth it. please bring Suarez!

Re: Juve: Cavani or Suarez?
My dream signing is CAVANI.. i believe he is the best striker in the world..
or he can be the best.. He is similar to ibra
Suarez.... ok he is good but we need a finisher
Berbatov... I dont see why some ppl really think that he is WOW and can be like ibra. his prime days are over. we dont want another borriello/amauri/iaquinta in our team.
Maybe giroud, llorente, Rooney, RVP, Torress would do be fine??

Cavani is too expensive...we need Suarez and another Striker :shisha:

Big no to Fargan, Berbatov or Torres.
Would sign Cavani or Suarez any day. How about Dzeko or Guidetti?

I'm just not a big fan of "La Foquita" Farfan. He is ok I guess, maybe for depth but would not sign him as a starter.

I think he is the perfect upgrade on Pepe...great finisher and goal scorer for a winger...lightning speed...great dribbler and passer...never say die attitude and stamina! :shisha:

Re: Juve: Cavani or Suarez?
I really don't want suarez. He's another Vucinic who is techincally sound but is not a reliable finisher. Not even close. If we have to pay for Cavani so be it.
Even with all of that money, chances are Napoli won't be able to pick up a striker just as good as Cavani in their system because they won't be for sale.
Farfan for free sounds worth a shot.

Re: Juve: Cavani or Suarez?
Let's take a minute and evaluate the two players' abilities compared to what the general opinion is concerning our needs.
First off we have Cavani who is known for his deadly goal scoring prowess. In his last 3 years he has managed 13 Serie A strikes for Palermo, while scoring 27 last year and 19 so far in the current season for Napoli. He also bagged 5 goals in his maiden Champion's League season.
On the other hand we have Suarez, a quality, quality player who is known more for his dribbling than his scoring ability. He managed 4 EPL goals last season (I believe he went to Liverpool in January) and so far this term he has 8 EPL goals. I have to admit I've only seen Suarez play on few ocassions but to me he seems more the clever shadow striker type who will create goal-scoring opportunities rather than finish them off.
Ultimately seeing either forward in Turin is a mouth-watering thought but Cavani, despite the outrageous €60 m price-tag, has some treasured Champions League experience and would be my first choice, though only if we have the reported €100m transfer kit at our disposal. Then we can use the remaining €40 m to address our other problems.

Re: Juve: Cavani or Suarez?
Suarez for sure but I think his style might be too similar to Vucinic. As in he always wants to take players on, I think they could co-exist.
@TPS, Suarez scored a LOT of goals for Ajax before moving to Liverpool. However, I agree with you, Suarez has been become more known for his dribbling.
But, he can score some outrageous goals too

That's true bro, he's a real gem and score beautiful goals but unless he replicates his goal-scoring form from Ajax, which doesn't seem to be the case right now, then he isn't the answer to our finishing question (i.e. against Lazio we had like 13 shots and 1 goal).
No doubt he will create a whole lot of chances but if I remember correctly no team has had more shots on goal than us.

That seems like a great attack bro, but I'm not so sure Quagmire/Suarez can match the efficiency of the other top strikers. My point is we will create a lot but still fail to convert most of our chances.

Thats why I said Matri. Matri is top class ST he just needs consistent playing time and he was tired last month so its normal

Re: Juve: Cavani or Suarez?
60m for cavani?!! that's ridiculous he's not messi. 30m max.
personally I prefer Higuain more than anyone. suarez is trouble and cavani is not doing well for weeks specially the time when Napoli needs him most.
all in all we shouldn't spend on a player more than 40m in my opinion

Agree with all this but I would take Suarez in a heartbeat, I'm just a big admirer though.
I would also take Higuain over Cavani.
I don't want Napoli players at Juventus, except for Fabio
