Do not want Mou really, we need someone for the long term. Would not mind giving an Up and coming coach that understands tactics and strategy a chance.
Would prefer Pellegrini... Need to sack Mancini immediately after the end of the season. Regardless!!!

Re: Mancini is a joke.
"When you play football and you are a top player, you should take your responsibility, always," Mancini told reporters. "It's not always the fault of the manager.
"The players should take responsibility - if they have big balls. If not, they can't play in a top team."
Mancini did, however, recognise that his side’s first-ever Premier League title defence was always going to be difficult and lamented a lack of transfer activity during the summer.
"For a team like us which has won the title, won the FA Cup, won the Charity Shield after 38 years, it's normal the year after as champions could be difficult," he added.
"But probably because we did some mistakes in the summer and we didn't improve our team. But now we have good players and I think we shouldn't do a match like this.
"No, no, now we can do nothing about that [failure to capture summer targets]. But in this moment we should do more because we have 12 games, we should get the maximum points we can get, we have the FA Cup and this season is not finished.
"I don't want to see a player like we saw [against Southampton]. A player who plays like that should stay at home, not even be on the pitch.
"Usually, we play well and even when we don't play well we put everything on the pitch but we didn't even for that. That's the problem. Only this.
"They played better than us, they deserved to win, congratulations to Mauricio Pochettino, to Southampton, but I am very disappointed with our performance."
Way to fill them with confidence and shift blame all in one.

Re: Mancini is a joke.
Part of the 'blame' should be placed on the board, why oh why give a five year extended contract to a manager who basically bluffed the Premiership on the last day.

If Mancini is a joke of a manager then the 95% of BPL managers are circus acts

Re: Mancini is a joke.
I'm sure 95% of the BPL managers would struggle with the financial funding Mancini has at his disposal...
I'm also 95% sure the BPL managers would criticize their players in most of the games where they've lost...
I'm only 90% sure they'd all struggle to qualify for the last 16 on two different occasions... (getting outplayed in atleast 4 out of 6 games also)
Oh, and lastly I feel 95% of the BPL managers would also laugh at the fact of the playing-style Man City show off...
He's a joke. He's only "won" his major trophies from the calcio scandal (where rivals were playing a league below) and won the BPL where his team cost his roughly 500m pounds. If he's any good, I hereby announce Harry Redknapp to be knighted.

Re: Mancini is a joke.
When was Mancini ever good?
He won with Inter because there was no real competition, when there was (the CL) they did nothing. In he end sacked for being just not good enough.
His first PL season was not even half, so lets ignore that.
The following season, most of the regular watchers were constantly criticising him because of his highly negative tactics and subs. They won the league on the last day of the season which is great, but I for one felt it was in spite of him more than because of him. If not for the individualism of Aguero, Yaya and Silva....nowhere near winning it.
In the CL...abject failure, outclassed.
I give him credit that he organised the team very well defensively, but their overall play still had no real identity and even now it still doesnt. Who knows what style of football they play? It changes from game to game.
This season..we dont even need to go into.
His excuses are pathetic.
The players? Its all their fault? When they win is it all them? No, its always a team effort, the coach included.
Didnt strengthen the team?Who told you Rodwell and Javi Garcia are good enough? Maicon

Re: Mancini is a joke.
Mancini is basically the Italian Pardew.
Tactically clueless, negative and quite frankly a pussy and relies solely on the individual to get him out of a tight spot and has no idea how to build team play or any sort of tactics.
The difference being that Mancini has always had the strongest team in the division to call upon.
That is the biggest problem Man City has that their manager restricts them in a system that doesn't suit them....
Aguero, Yaya and Silva all look lost, yes they have some individual problems too like Kompany aside the CBs are crap and same goes for fullbacks Zabaleta aside and other things.
But their biggest problem is their tactical fail of a manager.
Actually City's problems remind me a lot of ourselves.... failure of a summer, manager not having a clue what system to choose or style of play etc etc
Again the difference being they have the individuals to get away with it.
City should sack him in the summer, replace him with someone who has a clue tactically and revamp the squad.

There a case for calling him the Italian Redknapp, too. He needs to spend a lot.
All team quality -related answers I remember from his interviews have been saying the same thing "it's important to have good players". I don't remember him once saying anything about working with what you've got and little by little getting your team play better as a unit and become greater than the sum of its parts. That's what good managers do, for example what Moyes has done at Everton.
Mancini needs 11 great individuals which he can put on the pitch and see their individual brilliance carry his team to success.

Its not about that, its about Man Utd buying RVP and Kagawa etc etc and the negative impact it can have on the players you have seeing you're rivals buy quality players and you buying rubbish.
Don't underestimate how much a bad summer can effect you no matter how good you are.
Its really about momentum and they lost it all when they signed the likes of Sinclair, Rodwell, Garcia etc etc instead of actual quality.
Same for us, we saw Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal and Everton all improve in the summer and as a result you have seen what you see.
When you win in football you need to go on and improve again, stand still like City did and you go backwards.
Thus their summer being a failure.

Re: Mancini is a joke.
During his inter career only the Season where Juventus were relegated and most of the top teams were given point deductions was there no real competitors.
Defensive stability pays for itself over seasons time, the quickest way for a team to fall from grace is having its defensive system/components degraded. The biggest problem any high spending club will have is instilling into the players the will to defend and be combative. Look at most Italian Managers of today and what they first tend to do when taking over a new team.
Mancini has turned them into the best defensive unit in the league no doubt, he clearly has faults when his team needs to take a more creative and attacking approach to the game. Man City this season found themselves too much into a situation where the opposition scores first and then have to start chasing the game.
Cl his team was grouped with arguably the strongest 1 seed and 4 seed team. In Cl you need to be able to be comfortable with keeping possession which his team isn't really built for to do well at least not yet.
This is more about people not liking his preferred defensive style of coaching.

Re: Mancini is a joke.
No one denies he is very good at installing a good defensive base though, its the rest of the game he has problems with.
His whole game plan is based around the individual and when the individuals don't perform his team doesn't....
Thats the crux of the problem and why City need a change, tactically he is not up to the level they require and the individuals won't bail them out every game.
Especially when its quite obvious the system he is trying to deploy is not suiting them and a lot of them look lost and struggling to understand what is necessary to get the wins.

I see where your coming form but i dont completly agree with you, with the likes of Aguero, Silva, Yaya, Tevez and Dzeko off the bench hes got more then enough quality in that team, united shouldnt be as far ahead of them as they are

Man City didn't really need to strengthen. They had enough quality attackers, midfielders etc etc. They did what they should have done, bought a few players for depth.

Re: Mancini is a joke.
The difference between Mancini And Fergie is down to mentality. With United down 2-1, Fergie'll bring on a Scholes or Giggs, guys who lift morale AND who can influence comebacks. 2-1 down, Mancini brings on Maicon

Fact is
Man City spent 50M in last 2 weeks of August to just weaken their squad
You build on position of strength....they didn't in summer and now they are suffering

The saddest thing is that promising and even exciting players like Rodwell, 21, and Sinclair, 23, have gone there just to set back their careers or putting them on hold at least. Easy for City to think that these players will be future stars, but the thing is they won't if they don't get opportunities to play consistently and at City they probably won't.
Not that I care that much in the end, though.
