Why on earth would you call up four goalkeepers and five midfielders? That's f*cking mental.

One winger and no true trequartista...he's left us with so few options

Yes, we have some injury problems - Sneijder, Alvarez, (Coutinho sent on loan ) But its better to call up an inexperienced youth player who COULD play winger or trequartista rather than call up 4 f*cking goalies for no reason.

He did call up Marko Livaja who is a winger/SS. And the reason he called up 4 keepers is because Julio is having pain and could be in the stands for the game.

I thought Livaja was a striker :vagi:

how often are gazzetta's predictions accurate?

I guess we have to be calm on this coach, it is only his FIRST match. I think he'll start off with older players and start introducing players as he gets comfortable with Serie A. we can't expect him to call all these youngsters to play in his first match as coach.

in our current situation i don't think there's any excuse not to chose a better lineup than what ranieri would put out there. i think it's a weak decision to play both chivu and deki. and if that's our formation and they start i'll be disappointed

but as long as they either (1) somehow have good games, or (2) get subbed off for better players at appropriate times then it's fine. because it's at least not unrealistic that their motivation and form will improve with a new manager (although chivu's brainfarts won't change)

tbh right now (can't believe im saying this) i prefer Chivu over Nagatomo. Although Chivu is x100, at least there's a defensive presence in there, where as Nagatomo is ALWAYS attacking, leaving the left side wide open and it makes us very vulnerable to the counter attack. Nagatomo was built as an LW not an LB.

Look at Caceres in the Juve game, he had so much time on the left flank it was unreal. Chivu might suck but at least he's there. It's like playing with someone that has never touched a football before, he might reallly suck, but he still gets in your way sometimes and that can trip you up.

Seeing stankovic in the lineup is but what made me epic facepalm is not seeing Obi in that line up. Although we lost, he tore the juve mid apart and was a key factor to our attack.

Hopefully Stramaccioni knows what he's doing.

well I've heard Stankovic is gonna play in the pirlo role, so maybe he could actually do sick under a new coach. I mean, we shouldn't be so fast to say why the hell are these players playing, maybe they still got it they just don't have the right motivation or tactics behind them, I won't judge his decisions until after.

but yea they've both had fine games. still think deki is way too slow for his role. our midfield has so much space

yea surprisingly deki has done well, but he still tries those outrageous passes he can't pull off.

chivu has been decent, not bad defensively, meh going forward. but its not like hes a threat down the wing so its ok.

im not happy with the defending at the last minutes, what kind of goal was that? you have four/five players watching moretti bicycle kicking the ball
