You can't have 2 CBs for 2 CB positions. What if someone gets injured, suspended etc? What about rotation? We usually play 50+ games a season.

when pepe leaves we will buy another CB obviously.

if varane is given the starting position with ramos, then pepe will just be 3rd CB

and we will have carvalho or a carvalho-esque CB as 4th backup

We still need a RB by most accounts and both Fernandes and Smalling can play there.

Pepe will be an experienced backup and we'll probably get someone else for backup.

I do not want Old Pepe who's lost his physical prowess.That makes no sense.

Pepe is going to go south really really quickly when he begins losing his speed.

why the fk does everyone thinks pepe will become bad after 30. Every season i see pepe becomes more mature, i see vast amount of improvements in his posigning, tackling and last ditch tackles, the way to hand the best player in the world (missy), this season he has been our best cb and people want him out. FOR GOD sake. Even his balance issues has been reduced this season, i havent seen him fall in ages to put us in trouble.

Pepe can still be with us until he is 34, means 5 more years. deal with it.

because his primary abilities are speed and strength, those start to quickly decrease after 30.

pepe has not been reliable, he is not one of the best defenders. this is real madrid, if we want to win la liga and cl in the future we need a solid defense. right now our defense not CL worthy and he is one of the weak links.

lol, pepe most important skill is his anticipation, no matter if he loose a bit of his speed, he will still have the anticipation, and who thinks he wont adapt per his abilities, other top cb's adapt to their limitations and slow speed, and pepe is the fastest Cb i have ever seen, i am prety sure he will be fine even when he is 30+.

Pepe is still good enough to be our starting CB until Varane is ready, and lets be honest, Varane will be ready very soon. When that occurs, he and Pepe will switch roles and Pepe will be our backup

Out with Lass, Carvalho, Altintop, and if the offer exceeds 30 million then Kaka too

In with either of Hazard, Nerman, or Muniain; Azpilicueta, and a central midfielder, preferably M'vila
