Wow, Pique was terrible AGAIN today

I don't know how many of you watched the Sevilla Vs Barcelona game today but this is like the 10th game in a row that I have been shocked by how bad Pique is this year. At first I thought he was just in a little slump earlier on in the season but it's not just his play, his effort is lacking too. He almost cost us two goals today on effort alone.

Barca is too good to let his mistakes cost us the game against a side like Sevilla but I have been very confident that we will get by Milan pretty comfortably and I am starting to get worried because of Pique.

If Barca can't defend down the middle and he's not performing on corners and set pieces where we depend heavily on his height and strength Milan can have a field day.

The weirdest thing is that Pique has been such a rock and a player you just don't worry about for such a long time but he is really a bad defender this year, flat out. I am starting to think Pep needs to sit Pique for an extended period of time because he did it for a game or two before this season and it didn't do a damn thing.

These next couple months is make or break for Barca's season, it's trophy time. The two teams that are in our way are the two worst teams we could draw with our center back mailing in performances. Bilbao/Llorente and Milan/Ibra will eat him alive if he's not 100%.

Has it stood out to anyone else just how poor he's been this year?

Mark this thread, I am officially terrified of what Ibra and Llorente are going to do to him because I don't see him magically turning it around in the next month.

Pique will come through if you have faith in him.

It has stood out to me but I don't expect it to last forever, he's needed in August so i hope it doesn't.

I don't think he'll be a problem in games that he perceives, matter.

Well, he tends to be very good in big games. I take solice in that. I struggle thinking of big games he failed us in.

Anyway, I duno whats wrong with him. Today he was excellent for the first 25 minutes, got a yellow (for nothing as per usual) and turned to poo from there.

I still think he will be his old self in big games, I have the utmost belief in him when he is fully on it.

Despite that the last two times we met Pique has been underwhelming.

How does this player make his money? He's been running on his name for years now, he has cost Barca dearly once more today.

The thing is put T.Silva in our defence and he would look just as bad because he would not have as much back up and the attacker would have alot more space to utilize against him.

I mean, look at this picture


And that's against C.Ronaldo, who is deadly when he has that much space. So imagine if they give that much space to such a player and team, how much space will they give to inferior players..

While Pique has been bad ever since he started dating shakira, our system doesn't help our defenders..

He is so bad in the air, he isnt a fraction of the commanding aerial force he should be with that frame.

He has given away countless free headers to silva varane ramos etc

Pique's been nothing short of fantastic this season.

Pique has been awful this season. Someone should really tell him he doesn't need to go down at every chance he gets.

I don't care how many cleansheets we have, Pique has been great this season. Thiago Silva bossed the game (going on what other people have said I haven't watched the game yet), and PSG conceded 2 goals. No cleansheet.

Not to mention he was totally dominated by Ibra tonight. Had to be helped the rest of the game after getting that stupid yellow card early on.

Ibra is bigger, stronger, taller, quicker, more agile and jumps higher than Pique.

What do you think will happen if they play a long ball to him? Very often he is going to struggle.....its called Ibra being pretty good.

Perhaps he should magically grow 5 more inches and get some more fast twitch muscle fibres?
