Re: Fabrice Muamba
It was absolutely shocking to watch this happen, yesterday. It really puts everything in perspective. Too often we, as football fans, think all that matters are results on the pitch. It's episodes like this that serve as a reminder that in the end all we are watching is a game. There are always things that are more important. Moreover, no one should ever go to a football match and not return. Please pull through, Fabrice. We're all praying for you, and/or wishing you a speedy recovery.
Though it was undoubtedly a horrific couple of hours, there was a silver lining to be found. One of the most heart-warming acts I've ever seen was the crowd at White Heart Lane chanting Muamba's name throughout the entire incident. Kudos to the Tottenham supporters for instantly recognizing that the situation transcended the match.

I stopped watching the game about 35 minutes in, and I didn't even know this happened. Hope he pulls through.

Re: Fabrice Muamba
Someone was arressted yesterday after making racist comments about Muamba. Pretty sickening stuff.
Latest reports from the hospital say that Mumaba is beginning to show "small signs of improvement". Bolton have said that his heart is now beating without the aid of medication and he can now move his arms and legs.

Great news but there is always a chance he'll get another heart attack, let's hope that doesn't happen.

Good to hear about his improvements, now he has some movement.
I don't know the ins and outs of what happened but is it likely he could play again in the future?

Cassano suffered a minor stroke and is currently sidelined for 7 months. Muamba's case is much worse, so I think he won't be playing football for a much longer period of time. But at least he's alive and improving. Don't quote me on this though, it's an assumption.

Re: Fabrice Muamba
Ok thanks. Obviously surviving comes first but it would be good if somewhere in the future he had a career in football again.

Re: Fabrice Muamba
Speaking is a wonderful sign.
They're obviously playing down the significance, because patients don't necessarily make steady progress. He could remain in the hospital for quite some time.
I'm just happy he's recovered to the point he has.
