You serious? Robben and Duff at that time was destroying EPL defences on a weekly basis lol.

Robben was unplayable in his first season lol.

In the video its clear that Cole considers Robben a left winger - which makes sense cause he didnt play inverted at Chelsea:

"On the right.........You know what I'm gonna say - I'm gonna put Daniel Sturridge in there - People might question that cause hes just starting"

I'm not saying he was bad by any means, just that Sturridge is more comparable to Chelsea Robben than to the far superior (imo) current Robben.

Though it is probably just a case of Cole and Sturridge getting on well or it being easier to remember some people than others.

of course...but you know how these sort of fantasy XI's work - traditional newspapers or outlets always make it a 442 and cram people in there even if it doesnt fit their actual position...

For the record, I'm not sure Robben could play on the outside of a 442 either lol...not a traditional one anyway

Yeah, no doubt.

Robben in a 442? I think he maybe could, but you would need a balancing act in other parts of midfield.

You would want the two guys in the center to sit deep and not make runs into the box and you would ideally want a defensive winger of the Park Ji Sung variety on the other flank.
