Marcelo the best attacking lb?

Nacho Monreal. /LaLigaface.

Going forward Marcelo is the best. Before anyone jumps on my back I didn't say he is the best LB over all.

Nacho is like a left footed Arbeola. Solid but does not really add much in attack. Also, Alves is a diving (insert vulgar swear word) but he is quite a balance full back. Only few wingers have gotten the best of him honestly.

As for Marcelo, I like his style of play alot. Defensively leaves quite a bit to be desired but he really does make up for it attacking wise. He has improved a lot since the Bernabeu (and quite a bit of Madridistas) had nothing nice to say. I do not agree to the best attacking fullback nonsense but I do think he deserves more recognition than what he is getting which is mainly from Madrid fans.

Marcelo's defensive skills are VERY VERY underrated. I don't say his defensive skills are the best, but hello guys, he improved very very much.

I believe the thread is about his attacking qualities.

Marcelo is shet defensively,everyone knows that,including mourinho,but hes great offensively and thats why he is a starter.there is no reason to keep complaining so much about his defensive flaws if thats not his primary role.if he was/is doing something wrong then he could have already been benched by arbeloa and Fabio 30M Coentrao

I know this is a troll thread, but what do you think of his performance yesterday

IMO, he kept Robben in his pocket in 1v1 situations and he was making Messiesque solo runs

I think DAvid Alaba is knocking at the door now. ^^

Alaba is better than Marcelo and Coentrao.......

Say what you will, Marcelo made some great attacking runs in that match, especially during the end I was very tempted to bite my nails every time he got the ball, he is not bad. Just not a great defender, I'm afraid. Boss going forward, though.

Alaba though... Still impressed how Robben managed to not score after Alabas perfect cross.

Everyone at Madrid knows he's more than capable of creating dangerous chances for his team when he goes forward. World class in that department. His defending got to a solid level in the last 2 seasons. Is he the best defensively, no, he still can make a mistake, but nowhere near bad.

Alaba is great, really, for a 19 year old he is quite impressive.

But in my opinion, Marcelo played better that game. Still, how high do you guys rate him now?

He wasn't terrible defensively, like I said before, he kept Robben where he wanted him 1v1

ronaldo played like 20 minutes on the right lol and yeah lahm totally controlled ronaldo rofl specially with his brilliant positioning for the second goal

Marcelo was Madrid's best player yesterday and he was better than Alaba.............lol.
