Real Madrid doesnt play with a real DM (Khedira and Xabi both arent), I think most people would argue that the difference between Real Madrid and La decima is actually a stronger more solid midfield

How does this relate to Sahin? If Yaya comes, he's killed - you have to bench Özil or Di Maria/Benzema/Ronaldo to make a place for Sahin and Yaya. Unless Xabi somehow goes on a huge decline, which I doubt he will anytime soon - Sahin won't get a chance as a starter.

Sahin only hope is to challenge Xabi's position anyway, because we wont play Xabi-Sahin much.

Khedira is the one that would see the bench.

I actually had the same theory. The main reason Alonso is playing so much is because Mourinho doesnt trust anyone in our midfield but Alonso. With someone like Yaya around, he could actually afford to rotate more, so long as he has one of those two on the pitch.

Di Maria would probably see bench.

We saw Xabi-Khedira-Kaka-Ozil-Ronnie-Benzema playing together for a long period of time, Xabi-Yaya-Sahin-Ozil-Ronnie-Benzema would be an upgrade to that certainly

In big games, it's not a bad idea. Di Maria is kind of suspect in big european games because of his predictability.

It is definitely worth trying, i think. But you would lose Di Maria's work rate in such a case.
