Look at Alex Oxdale Chamberlin....(I hate doing this) but he was signed for !5 million pounds(with add ons)...and he hasn't played 5 matches this season..........he hasn't been bad but it's not like he's had any sort of discernable immediate impact.

Disastrous before that Leverkusen game in 2002, won and lost his place from Cesar Sanchez because of his errors.
Imagine if people discarded Iker like people seem to want to with De Gea now.
Disastrous is a strong word. I mean he already had a CL final under his belt before that game vs Leverkusen lol
But I agree, you can't expect young players to never make mistakes.

The ox' situation and De Gea's situation are different. Ox was brought in as a hot prospect to be back-up/understudy to our so called wingers, De Gea was brought in to replace VDS right away with minimal distruptions

I saw Newcastle's 3rd goal and it was evident that there was a huge communication gap between Lindegaard and Jones. Lindegaard could've done better there.

Jones could just not act like an idiot ... and try to kick the ball with his leg not his head after it bounced lol ....

You wonder why Fergie went for De Gea if he wanted a ready product, he should have went for Tim Krul if he wanted someone who is ready

Fergie could have had a top keeper for free if he would have kept Ron-Robert Zieler. ^^

Krul wasnt even our number 1 in the summer lol........
This is his breakthrough season but he didnt just break through he has shattered the fckin ceiling.....
I am genuinely frighted about people coming after our stars, luckily they are long contracts so they wont go for cheap.

I was actually surprised Ferguson didn't go for Sketelenburg.

Re: De Gea's not so bad anymore, huh?
AGAIN, for all of you saying that SAF needed De Gea to be good in the league this year, HE HAS BEEN. It makes no difference that he's young, he has played very well for UNITED in the EPL this year.
Think about if he played in the EASY GAMES that Lindegaard had played in and got those clean sheets instead of Lindegaard then he would be one of the top 2 or 3 keepers in the EPL.
I WILL POST THE STATS AGAIN. Please look at them before making up that he is a project and not ready to play in the EPL.
De Gea has had clean sheets against Spurs, Bolton, Everton, Swansea, and QPR. While he has held Brom, Chelsea, Stoke, Liverpool, Newcastle (Lindegaard just shipped 3) and Wolves to 1 goal.
So out of 14 EPL games that he has started in 11 of them he has let in 0 or 1 goal. That's terrible isn't it????
In the EPl he has played against Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal, Newcastle, Stoke, Man City, Everton plus some of the smaller teams. That is pretty much every big/good team in the EPL.
While Lindegaard had his streak against the giants of Norwhich, Sunderland (w/o O'Neil), Villa, Fulham, Wigan and then when he played one team with a pulse Newcastle he shipped 3 goals.

I agree 100%. But if De Gea had messed up that 3rd goal he would have been blamed and he did get a hand on the free kick but like you said he wouldn't of stopped it the placement on the free kick was world class.
My point more so was that everyone kept saying Lindegaard was better because he hadn't been scored on but people just ignored he played against crap competition while De Gea played against all the good teams in the EPL/

Re: De Gea's not so bad anymore, huh?
Fair nuf, in all honesty i dont think De Gea has been that bad, hes had some really good performance and some really shit ones.....inconsistency.
Which is all due to imo, being very young, having alot of pressure on him which hes not ready yet for as far as iam concerned and said that when he left.....
Also he cost alot of money and had a lot of hype surrounded him " New Casillas" VDS 2.0" "Future of Spain" etc etc.......
I dont think SAF rotating him with Lindegaard has done him any favours aswell......
I am sure he will come good eventually if hes given time.

what do you have to say about the flap that sghzcfzghy made to gift Fulham their equalizer?
thought not.

There was nothing Lindegaard could have done for both Newcastle goals and the third one too.
Stick to your boring, unfunny comments.

Do you two flip a coin to determine who soothes who's hurt butt first, or is it best out of three in a game of rock/paper/scissors?

Are these accurate? I have seen more than one goal through his legs or from just under him to be honest...
That stat should be more definitely..

I'd hope they are. Opta Stats for PL games only. Apparently updated to include all PL games so far.
