tbf, it was a club who played in third division, also he scored a goal plus assisted.

As a CM I definitely choose Sahin. All you have to do is erase every minute Cesc played for Arsenal from your mind.

Sahin is the better CM, by far. Cesc the better AM, ditto.

Fair enough. I suppose I have to review the definitions of each position.

Yep......that's what the entire thread is based on.....one match.Nevermind the kid has played 150 + professional games and been arguably the most important part of a Bundesliga winning team, all we care about is a goal and assist against Ponferrida.

You guys make it sound as if we're insluting Cesc by the comparison.....like if we're comparing Joselu to Messi, we're not.

Quality Wise..........neither has had a peak that's clearly discernable from the other.Cesc has been more consistent.

The one part I agree with you is that they aren't a perfect comparsion and they now play dififferent positions.

@Billy.....I think he meant that Sahin's qualities are better suited to those of a CM than Cesc's.

When he was paired with Flamini. Arsenal played 4-4-2 back then, though, so he got a lot of cover. Next, Arsene switched to 4-3-3 where he still had 2 guys covering him.

Not really too good as a CM, because without possession he's really not all that good that deep.
