He has to feel like a right idiot after these last few months. Considering the same team he turned into a joke to the point that most mid-table sides were practically looking forward to playing us for an easy few points went on to win an FA and European cup double with the same exact roster and a rookie manager.

Although knowing his ego, it's probably completely oblivious to him....

LOL I got tired of listening to his press conferences at times. Same shoite over and over. And towards the end when he started claiming Roman would not sack him because of the "project", I knew it was all over. I told my mate he would get the sack right after another defeat. After the WBA defeat, I woke up the next morning expecting to see that he was sacked. I was dead right. Razz

I don't think anyone could do a worse job than he did. He was so bad that I think if he got another chance, he won't be half as bad.

He was extremely naive and I think that was the primary reason for any failures he had.

His obvious tactical ineptitudes aside, things were actually going quite smoothly at the beginning of the season. It wasn't until he started treating the players like crap that things took a nosedive.

The exiling of Alex and Anelka turned out to be a pivotal moment in his tenure. He essentially lost his job on that day. The ramifications of that still-inexplicable decision were huge, and are one of the biggest reasons for our trainwreck and his complete loss of tenability in his position as manager.

It sucks that he failed but the whole Andre Villas Boas thing gave me a lot of dramatic expectations and hopes

The apprentice of Mourinho, much younger and just as cool, with his unique trench coat and poses revolutionizing Chelsea, integrating youth, Lukaku playing alongside his idol Drogba and us fans witnessing a whole new era unfolding before us...

Is it me or is the memory is winning the CL aging like fine wine, or what's that expression?

We won against all odds, captainless, 2 goals down with 10 men coming up with a goal of the season and Torres silencing the Camp Nou!

The feeling of losing all hope we had when Iniesta scored THAT 90+3 goal in that semi final years ago relived when Mueller scored that header but only to be equalized by a bullet Drogba header!

Petr Cech saving a penalty in a final once again adding to the tales of the legendary keeper for decades to come!

Our player of the season to miss his penalty and taking the tie into sudden death!

And finally Didier Drogba with his last match wearing the Chelsea blues and his last kick of the ball for the club, for the fans, winning the ultimate prize that we have all been craving for and then running off back to his team mates teary eyed!

The difference is, Mourinho actually had something to back up his arrogance and air of bombast with. AVB had....nothing.

Not to mention, Mourinho's was likable and all a part of his charm. AVB's was just pompous and vain.

I felt the same way you do about AVB. His appointment was just so exciting and energizing, and I so wanted that feeling of something special and revolutionary happening that we all felt after his appointment to complete its course and be successful.

What started out as a high level of excitement and intrigue around AVB himself, though, somehow evolved into arrogance and ego-driven superciliousness.

He's far from a Mourinho, in every way possible.

I agree, I want to get it on DVD to watch it over and over!
