Is McEachran the most overrated youngster in the world?

I dont know what people see in this guy, Guthrie is comfortably better imho.

Barely played due to AVB, wait till he goes to Swansea on loan in Jan, he will rip the BPL defences up.

That Alex guy who won best player award for U 19 world cup (or euro?) is miles miles better.

Dont know where did the hype about MCEachran come,he has done nothing in top flight football.He hasnt showed any more potential than other players of his same age group too.

I said a while back he is the most over hyped English youngster. Not saying he won't become a great player one day, but he has done nothing to be even compared to players like Wilshere.

Just out of utter sheer curiosity but who hypes up dear old Josh other than good old Chelsea fans. Unless this is something that takes place a lot on the shores of England...

Why would Swansea buy him?

They have the Welsh Iniesta, The Wandsworth Redondo and Mark " The Power " Gower......

No reason to take McEachran on loan because he would just ride the bench.

Yes. He is extremely overrated. And I have no idea where it has come from. He has great potential, but the level of expectation around him is ridiculous.

Nathanial, the young CB at Chelsea shows a lot more promise.

I dont get why he has to have "done something".

He is a kid, he barely plays...of course he hasnt done anything.

That doesnt make him any less talented.

McEachran is over hyped. I dont see anything special about him. Alex is much better imo.

He has the talent, but people are expecting him to already be pushing for first team starts. He needs time and for people to lower their expectation of him.

I must question the validness of some of the statements here. How exactly is Josh overrated and by what means are you guys judging his talents? And who exactly is hyping this young man to make such a statement that he is over hype?

I have barely seen enough of him to rate him. Wilshere thinks he's great, so I'm going with his word.

anyway ive seen josh's potential, the guy looks like a very good player imo, if he does go Swansea or Bolton he will develop and gain that experience that he needs to play at a high level.

It's ridiculous. I hear this all the time around him. They expect him to be Chelsea's Wilshere. The hype around him hear in South London is shocking. I've watched him play a number of times and he does have great potential. But anything he does well will get blown out of proportion.

Setting the kid up to fail IMO.
