6 points adrift...This may be the beginning of the end(at least for the league).

We are too dependant on Messi. When he has a bad game, we tend to have really bad games as well. I don't like where this is going at ALL.

Disappointed at pep...cannot break down the parked bus no matter what..WHY WERE WE PUTTING CROSSES IN THE BOX? we have no height at all yet there were all sorts of wayward crosses and horrible corners.

Well the players showed no urgency in the 1st half, its only right we got punished, TBH the way to break down parking the bus is to go wide and while we dont have tall strikers we can at least stretch their defence, so I disagree with you there, but Pep played that card far too late.

Even if we win the Classico, with our players' attitude ATM, the gap will be widen again, they need some urgency

I already feared this, and mentioned it in another thread. I really think we should have gone for tall attacker as a super sub for these kinds of games. Even if we did not cross, we had more than 10 corners, and they scored from corner with 2.

Villa was horrific and Sanchez is still regaining form. Sanchez was getting chances in the first half, then he went missing.

Messi was also below par but he almost saved us twice.

So that's our entire forward line playing below their standards. Unacceptable.

The midfield I think did well. Xavi Thiago and Keita moved the ball up, but we had no cutting edge in the final third. That was our downfall.

Also, I did not understand the Keita and Mascherano subs...very strange.

I screamed at the TV on the messi goal which was called offside....I thought it counted.

Then I screamed again when he hit the post...what a game.

I agree, except Mascherano never came on, he instead brought on pedro. mascherano was ready to come on though.

If we go into the classico 6 points down (or more), it will be do or die. We will have to focus on the CL only

To me Pique and Abidal, probably not the best defensive pairing. Masch+Abidal/Pique would have been better. Pique is not the best of tacklers but is ball playing. Masch is the type of bullying defender we needed today. Of course I think Pep realized this but then Getafe scored the goal and he(rightfully) changed the sub

Poor performance... The ref was pretty dodgy but theres really nothing to complain about. When you play like that you'll never have luck on your side. No point singling out players because as a collective they were lethargic, unimaginative and one-dimensional. Poor...

I was hoping Atleti could take something from Madrid too, and they were convincingly raped. This makes the Classico very important, we really can't lose it. Madrid are clearly in the driving seat right now.

To me, though, this is a struggle between two teams which will go for a few years and we have to accept that we won't win it all. We shouldn't view not winning everything as an utter failure. Even if we do lose the League this year we can still win other trophies and then try to win it back next year.

Terrible performance, RM has one hand on La Liga Trophy Now. Let's be honest, La Liga is gone unless we beat them at Bernabeu. If Madrid win at Sporting Gijon and don't lose to us at Bernabue then La Liga is over. They are playing better, they have hunger that we have in our first season under Pep. Now our boys play, pass pass pass and think 'we are awesome, we are gonna win 4 sure', 'no need to be clinical in front of goal, we will score anyway' and then rival have a FK/corner/counter and score. Frustrating.

The only positive is that Puyol did not play and his unbeaten streak is still on.

Problem is, we HAVE to win the clasico and we have only like the 5th best away results this season. Very pitiful. Unless the team shows that they can bounce back from this loss, I am not convinced that we can win in Madrid.

I'm not afraid at this team, note we were playing against two layers of 4 defenders. I just thought that Pep could've solved the problem if he had introduced Pedro for a defender much earlier, like minute 55, and played with Thiago + Messi as CAM and Xavi behind them. What Pep did is relay completely on Xavi to chip the ball to the attackers, leaving a huge space in the CAM with no single player there. Long passes doesn't suit us in games like these, should have had 3 play makers in midfield (Messi + Xavi + Thiago) + three attackers. Alves should have either played as a RCB or get subbed with Kieta (Busquets as CB) or Masch. Alves is not better than Pedro as a RW. Anyways, Pep I love you despite.

6pts lead for RealMadrid, yes its a gd lead, but its not over yet.. 75pts remaining including 2 Classico !

Haha yea, they tend to act that way...they're like a child who has been starved for years and is getting food for the first time.

its interesting how madrid gets 3 points every week and dont lose points. Today pressing sucked, it was clear to see that they were tired. they flied from milan to barcelona then again from barcelona to getafe within 2-3 days. unlucky schedule, but i dont get it how can you rest your players when points are important. where was cesc mascerano pedro. and iniesta is not injured pep saves him for r.madrid game. all these things are big mistakes from guardiola

Awful game from us. Our forwards are in terrible form, Messi not so much but hasn't been at his best. I never want to see Villa in a Barcelona shirt again...

We were very unlucky but what can you do.

Also our defense is very shaky without a commanding presence in the form of Mascherano or Puyol in the middle.

I noticed that Messi was playing at the RW rather than false 9. Villa was playing upfront instead

It was to help him score and regain his confidence, but it backfired.
