It wasn't a penalty, but honestly to say that it was obviously a clean tackle is a hyperbole. When I first saw it, given the way Ben Arfa went down, I immediately thought it was a penalty. I'm sure that given video replay the linesman would have seen that it was not one, but it is not unheard of that a decision that close could be mistaken.

There have been far worse penalties given and not given already this season, and given the nature of Man Utd's opening goal, I don't think this game should quite be labelled a robbery.
