Biscuits was basically a CB by the end of the game.

Villa is so far from the box. Did he have to play so wide?
Also, Chilean Hleb? Really?

He was the only man providing width, someone had to.

Agreed however this impairs his contribution in scoring.
In a 4-3-3 formation with the LB moving FW he can play closer to the box I suppose but I don’t think he’s the best player to have there in a 3-4-3

Had he played more centrally Abate and Robinho would have had a much easier game.

In fact the left was already pretty dangerous for Barca as it was what with Abidal going forward.

Robinho missed a sitter from a cross coming from that flank.

I Understand why he had to play that wide with this formation. I’m just saying expect him to play closer to the box in the usual 4-3-3.
He’s in bad form and if he is to improve he needs to start scoring. And this will be easier if he plays closer

Well I guess it boils down to what you think is more important. Barcelona winning or Villa form.

Mind you I think Pep should try a throw Villa a bone by starting him in the middle at some stage. Guy looked super disappointed when he came off.

Exactly. Villa I think is at the stage where even for him, winning FAR outweighs how he does.

Though of course he wants to do well and play well. Which he was at the start of the season.

I dont worry too much about Villa. You dont become a bad finisher overnight, he will score goals again.

Villa scoring and Barca winning can happen. I wasn’t talking for this specific game. All I’m saying is that in our casual 4-3-3 he should play closer to the box so he can create chances and hopefully score to boost his confidence. Not hard to happen

True Two great years in the Donkey league doesn't really mean much. He was never rated that highly in Spain when he was with Atleti. (Still scored quite a few against Barca though)

He owned Barca lol

You can see why though, he was actually fast back then and they hit us on counters with balls in behind our higher then average line.

But yeah, he was once a good player tbf, but never what people claimed him to be in my opinion.
