CL game against Zagreb

Sahin- Lass is very, very interesting if they have horizontal responsibilities more than vertical ones. What i mean by that is Mou should let Lass concentrate mostly on covering the defensive side of the midfield and push Sahin forward a bit. If it's our usual vertical b2b shindig, it won't be that interesting.

From the press conference, Mourinho gave some hint as to who is going to be playing: Sahin of course and Lass.

Based on the last game against Valencia, we are likely to keep the same formation, replacing Arbeloa and Marcelo, so:

------Ozil-Higuain--Ronaldo

-Mourinho reminded us how versatile Lass is, so that's an hint
-He spoke of how much he loves Ramos CB, so i dont think that will change
-As for the attack, It's Higuain's turn to start in CL but Mou likes Benzema in his 433 because he can hold the ball, so i suspect it will be a formation change, and Callejon might get to start. Specially since we are at home, and logic wants us to attack.

So i would say,

Sahin--Xabi--Coentrao
Callejon--Ozil--Ronaldo
----------Higuain

If you cant tell, that's our 4231 when we attack and press high.

I don't think Khedira or Xabi start Nick... Granero gets the nod.

Lass to RB, Coentrao at LB, Granero-Sahin midfield. If it starts to badly fail, Xabi comes in.

If Mou is going to start one of them, it would be Khedira. Alonso really needs some rest.

Mourinho confirmed that Sahin and Lass would be starters and that Kaka, marcelo would miss the game. He also said that he wanted to get the job done so that they might finish first. The mathc vs Ajax will be just before the classico and I expext him to line up a reserve team there.

Also Ramos and Alonso have played a lot of games this season and will probably be rested.

They are a physical team. Rest all we fear to get injured for El Clasico...

Why would Mourinho start two brand new players in his system in CL? I dont think he is that adventurous, even Callejon is hardly getting the nod to start, and Xabi has played every game so far. We still do need to get the W to clinch that 1st spot and the last game will be for the noobs.

Xabi is going to get some rest, but maybe in second half, and next weekend he might play half a game and Sahin will sub him. Xabi not starting at all is very unlikely imo.

My guess. Pepe and Ramos will play becouse their partnership still needs some work, the rest is obvious. Unless Mou is planning on killing/injuring/fatigue Xabi, he should not start.

Mourinho clearly announced that Sahin and Lass would start. So unless Lass plays as a right back and Khedira is rested, Xabi won't start.

Yes he did, but he didnt say Xabi is not starting, which never happened this season so far. Lass is more likely to start again as a RB than Xabi not starting at all.

i think Mou will start callejon as well because he likes to rest ozil and there isnt anyone else who could play there considering coentrao will occupy the LB spot

so a line-up like this wouldnt be far fetched

I have really seen him play and can't make an opinion. It would be good to know his level because he is our second goalkeeper and if Casillas gets injured it will be him who will play.

since ozil will be rested(i am sure) there is only Khedira, Sahin or Lass there to play that role.....since Mou was talking about Lass being versatile(even offfensively) i used my logic to predict him playing there

he would do ten folds better than what khedira was able to perfom in that position and Mou obviously likes him so its like a win-win here...cmmon think about it, id rather have nobody playing there than khedira
