Re: FIFA Puskas Award
Dos Santos's goal was excellent, but most certainly not the goal of the year. The goals of Ibra, Neymar, De Ceulaer, Lopez and Rooney, at least, have an edge over Dos Santos's goal, or are a lot better (like Neymar's), IMO.
I voted for Neymar's goal. One great dribble and one outrageous dribble - separated by an almost-as-great one-two - and finished off really well.

Re: FIFA Puskas Award
No need for that kind of tone, this is a highly subjective topic. My opinion remains unchanged, both goals were important and, to me, Messi's vs Arsenal is more visually appealing. I realize I'm in the minority here.jiopsi wrote: The Moudrid goal shows dribbling in it's best form, pure dribble with pace (which btw needed also world class awareness, reflexes and technique), that nobody couldn't react enough to stop it. He's gone through them like knife through hot butter. Not to mention that it was goal in Bernabeu, in semi-final, that practically quaranteed Barca to the final. The other one, round 16 in Camp Nou.

This is Neymar's Trophy to lose imo.
Absolutely beautiful goal... A goal that you won't be able to replicate, even on FIFA 12.
GG Messi.. but NO RE

Re: FIFA Puskas Award
Julio Gomez hands down IMO.
Last minute of a world cup final in your country. You've just been given stitches for your bleeding head a few moments earlier and continue to play.
In the last minute you score the winner in a 3-2 thriller from a bicycle kick.
Doesn't get more epic than that. I know if something like that happened to my team it would be my favourite goal ever.

Re: FIFA Puskas Award
As far as Messi's Madrid goal goes, if Lass tackles Messi, then no goal. From where I stand it just reeks of lazy defending. My point is that it could have been avoided.
If he had scored a similar goal against us like the one he scored against Arsenal I would have been more impressed.
Nerman's goal was awesome too. For me it's between that one and Gomez.

Why don't you make a new thread about this rather than bump a year-old one about last year's award?

Re: FIFA Puskas Award
BTW brahs the Ben Arfa goal nominated actually was the Blackburn goal not the Bolton goal.
I agree with Gil though Cisse's was still better.

Re: FIFA Puskas Award
I am surprised it made the light of the day
That goal was in a FA Cup match which wasn't even televised the only footage you can find ( Fifa's youtube channel aside) is crap 1980s camera footage.
I'm actually amazed people even saw it enough for it to be nominated

Fenerbahce
I think FIFA preferred HBA because it was more of an accomplishment while Cisse's goal seemed more of a hit 'n' miss. Not taking anything away from him though. That goal defied physics.

Re: FIFA Puskas Award
Messi's goal shouldn't be there btw.
Incredibly overrated because of who he is he beat 1 person and ran towards goal.
There were many goals better than that over the year not to mention Messi probably scored himself.

Re: FIFA Puskas Award
@ Mole we all know why Missi was nominated. Why are you surprised lol.
That HBA goal was a good goal but nothing particularly special. It was terrible defending because he basically ran in a straight line. No twists or turns to get free of defenders, just crappy defending.
The one with the sh**ty quality though.
