Agreed. I also feel Bayern wouldn't sell him. He is the 'heart' of the defense. Certainly Barta is a better option...

I think Badstuber is good, but not for us.

He is for sure far too slow and immobile in the 1 v 1. But he is very good on the ball and positionally sound.

Apparently Dejan Lovren (Olympique Lyon) and Sedar Tasci (VfB Stuttgart) are linked with us and apparently Barca are in contact with Tasci. I don't know much about these players. These players would cost both 10-15 million though I haven't seen their quality therefore I cannot judge them. Vermaelean/Kosieleny would cost 20-30m apparently. Luiz would cost 30-40 million (), Botia would cost 2-3m, Vertonghen 5-15m, Jose Angel 3-7million and Dede 5-20million (free would have a better view of his quality cost).

Jose Angel-- We aren't linked with him and haven't been linked with him seriously for a year. Hes a LB too, not a CB, and a very ordinary one.

Alberto Botia-- Our buyback option has expired. We won't take him. He's not good enough either.

David Luiz-- For his cost I wouldn't go near him with a 50ft pole.

Mats Hummels (extended contract)-- Won't happen

Thiago Silva (extended contract)-- Won't happen

Marc Barta-- I've always been for giving youth chances. I think he's good too.

Marc Muniesa-- Same as Bartra.

Thomas Vermaelan-- Interests me a lot. I think he'd do well with Pique.

Laurent Koscieleny-- Also interests me.

Dejan Lovren-- Don't know enough.

Serdar Tasci-- Not good enough.

Jan Vertonghen--Interesting... particularly if he's cheap.

Dede-- Only seen vids... Looks good, but I'm not going to say we should buy him based on youtube vids.

For me:

1. Vermaelen/Koscielny
2. Dede
3. Vertonghen

Jose angel is not a CB though, he is a left back and not very good.

Add Capoue to the linked list as well.

And I have a hard time thinking anyone but Spurs will get Vertonghen. The only thing standing between Spurs and Vertonghen is a percentage in the contract that Ajax are being *bleep*s about.

Besides, they'd probably be even more *bleep* about it if they were selling to Barca, since they could probably get some more money from his sale (and therefore owe even more money to Vertonghen)

I still maintain we go for Subotic, less injuy prone and would compliment Pique, not be like him.

I'm not saying it from any point of view (I don't know what you mean by that anyway), that's just the situation. The only reason Vertonghen isn't at Spurs is because they hit a snag in the contract, which I expect (as well as Frank De Boer, coach of Ajax) to be sorted out sooner or later.

I don't know enough about Subotic to comment on him.

Yeah, this would be the perfect time to regress back into my old habits with the Van Persie stuff, so many things I have had to stop myself from saying which would have caused a riot. But a few fools seem to be doing that already in the Gen seection.

No need to worry guys, Rosell has beem very clever in transfers since he became president, whoever we sign it won't be someone rubbish or overpriced thats for sure. Vermalean or Subotic are my bets.

Again, other than Agger....I am indifferent about.

I respect the ability of guys like Verm, Kosc and even Subotic but I wouldnt be estastic if we sign them. I would be more like, "ok, lets see what you can do" whereas if we signed someone like Dede I would have some hope, he might actually turn out to be something special.

Obviously, the risk is there he will be far worse than those other players but the intrest alone to me is worth is.

So really, this isnt like other transfers for me. Like when we signed Mascherano, I was like I would prefer player X, or when we signed Cesc, I was like I would of rather have Ozil the year before or even noone.

Now im like, lets see who they pick.
