I rate Capoue, Sports doesnt lol, we got into it this week. Many in France believe that he is having a better season than M'vila for ex, but he is not getting a look in the NT because of that ridiculous depth they have at DM, and he is not as experienced as many. There are doubts about his tactical level, and the fact that he plays for a HIGHLY defensive team. He stays very deep usually, and i would say that he is not very tested in an more open system that would stretch his skills.

I don't think he has been linked with Barcelona even once. People say a lot of good things about him. Apparently he is close to joining Spurs.

It's bizarre how De Boer is acting like an agent for Vertonghen. He really wants him to come to Barca. I'm sure with his connections he's had words with Guardiola too.

I'm not sold on Capoue just because he's unknown to me. I don't really see why he'd be so much better than Bartra tbh... Good enough to challenge Pique, Puyol and Mascherano??

Kizz, I think that Capoue is wanted mainly as a CB. They say he is natural in both positions. I'm sold on him, even if he can flop, I would gamble of him. It's the kind of transfers I like (if he is not very expensive off course).

I don't know much about him, but you are normally a very sceptical judge about signings. Can you tell me why you like him so much?

I've only watched youtube clips and 1 Toulousse game, so my rating is not informed tbh. But what I like about Capoue is the kind of signing (young but mature, good price) and from what I've watched, he seems like a mixture of Busquets and Mascherano.

- Tall and good aerially.
- Good diving tackling
- Can do the pelopina and fakes to hold the ball.
- Has quite good technique and passing.
- Good passing forward (look at the passes at 0:20, 1:22, 1:49 from the youtube video dani posted... that's Busquets right there!).
- Pretty fast and athletic.

He is 23 and for 10 milion euros? It can really go wrong IMO.

David Luis is horrible.

Not true...... he was terrible under AVB but practically everyone was but he was probably Chelsea's MOTM for like 6 games running when Di Matteo came in before his injurie a couple of weeks ago.....

I have no doubt if he joined Barca he would be a success..... i question Chelsea would sell for a price that Barca feel is acceptable tho.

Honestly, getting Vertoghen would not be a bad move. He's got a lot of what we need in defence right now (strong in the air, can play CB, LB and he's technically gifted for a CB) and he's not expensive due to his contract expiring. The only thing that sort of bugs me is his overall quality. He's very good, too good for the Eredivisie, but not a topnotch defender. I don't think he's good enough to be a starter CB in our team. I wouldn't mind selling Adriano and buying Alba and Vertoghen for the LB position though. That shouldn't be too expensive (probably 20-22 million for the two of them) and we might end up getting at least one gem for a relative small splash of money.

He's even a converted midfielder. Very Happy

I don't rate Alba that highly, but I think he should be able to perform similar to what Adriano has been doing, but at the same time he is less injury prone, younger and a Masia product. As long as we also have a defensively stronger player who could also play as a LB, in this case Vertonghen, Tito would be able play either of them based on the opponent and it's strengths and weaknesses. Sakho would also be an option instead of Vertonghen, but he would obviously cost a whole lot more. Just getting Alba would be pretty pointless in my opinion, as he's too similar to Adriano in a lot of ways.

There was a showed that aired yesterday called Premiere league world and Coloccini featured in it. They hyped him up a lot but I've never seen him play.

Can someone do a comparison between him and David Luiz? What are their strengths and weaknesses? I haven't seen either of them playing much.

Also, why isn't coloccini on the Argentine NT?

Coloccini was a fantastic player in La Liga, especially at Depor I remember him giving Barça a hard time whenever the two teams met. I hadn't been impressed by his Newcastle performances since he joined Magpies but this season he has been one of the reasons why Newcastle are so high up in the league.
Compared to Luiz...he is obviously much older and more experienced. He is fantastic on air, both offensive and defensively. I think he should have stayed in La Liga because of his style of play. Shame...he could do well for Argentina too.
