Do we need an AM or DM more?

I know MVB and Ambro are having a poor season, but with Flamini and maybe Gattuso coming back, perhaps a DM is not needed? Slotting Flamini/Nocerino in front of the defence is always an option, although someone who can distribute the ball better will be preferred.

AM, we all know the story.

So if we could buy one player in the winter...AM or DM?

My personal choice goes to AM...this would also move boateng back to midfield, almost lending the effect of buying 2 midfielders.

We can get a DM(or 2) in the summer

My Priorities:
1. AM (the gap left by Kaka's departure still exists and has never been properly filled)
2. GK (Abbiati's getting increasingly shaky, but it's highly unusual to change our starting GK mid-season)
3. LM/RM/CM (Aqua is coming along nicely, so this is not quite as big an issue as it was at the start of the season)
4. DM (we have enough depth to cover this for the whole season)
5. ST (eventually we're going to need another one, more likely at the end of the season)

We definitely need a new AM

But a new DM will not go unused

word has it that, milan are looking for midfielder, The Sun reports Tottenham could go for Moussa Dembélé, and AC Milan could then attempt to sign Van Der Vaart.

AM really, while signing DM will not be bad and somehow necessary looking at the age and current availability of the true DMs, there are still a lot of energizer bunnies here. Thus, as the OP said signing DM in summer would not be bad, whilst the lack of world-class creation which should come from the AM position is still not taken care of

We need creative midfielder in first place. Then we need to resolve things in strikers department.

Pato is one of the best strikers today, but he needs to be fit. If he is going to be injured for half of every season then we need new striker.

Also if we get ofensive midfielder then the team wont be so dependent on Ibrahimovic no more.

Either one will be needed and should be addressed at some point. But right now an AMF is most needed, our strikers would absolutely thrive with a good AMF. But either one if it is addressed during the January transfer window is welcomed

For me the immediate priority that MUST be addressed in January is a DM. Boateng, Robinho, and Cassano can all play as an AM to varying degrees of efficiency. With Flamini and Gattuso out and MvB and Ambrosini looking tired and static, we really have no chance at anything if that is not addressed.

Don't get me wrong, I want an AM as much as the next guy, but it must be said, a DM is more needed if we want to sin anything this season.

if we want to compete with teams like Madri and Barca in europe we need both wc DM and AM! Boatang doesnt cut it same with Robinho!MVBand Ambro ,and Gattuso are too old,flamini is not inteligent enough to hold that position!

Definitely a DM

Our problem isn't goal scoring its defending and solidifying our lead. Last season all we needed was 1 goal and it was in most cases enough, now we always look for the second or killer goal ( im not against this , but the need for a second or third stems from our defensive insecurities )

We need a new anchor to hold our defense together for the next few years, there are many great attacking teams out there, but few who have a world class defense and fewer who display such defensive brilliance consistently.

we need both!, neither ambro nor MVB is cutting it for me as DMF and an AMF is badly needed as we simply don't have one...
