Looking forward to this game... Mallorca aren't a bad side and I have a feeling we might turn the heat back on (I hope).
Some great stats there Khaled. Thiago is so impressive.
Hopefully this mean Puyol and Pique will play.
4-3-3

He created danger once with a nutmeg-like play and got a corner I think, but he lost the ball a couple times that I remember. He came on pretty late so it's hard to say. He didn't do much tbh but he wasn't given much time. I'm sure we'll see some replays.

I thought it meant that he's gonna score a hattrick. Cause in 16 or 17 minutes he does! Then I thought it has something to do with the barcelona goal scoring record. Didn't he just break another record with that PK?
Re: La Liga 2011-2012 (Week #10): FCBarcelona vs Mallorca
no he already broke kubala record in previous matches. maybe he meant he will score his 200th goal for barcelona. now he has 199 goals

La Liga (Week 10): FCBarcelona 5 - 0 Mallorca
¤Goals: Messi (3) Cuenca (1) Alves (1)
¤ Assists: Adriano(2), Alves (1) Messi (1)
Great game by Barca especially without the trio Xavi, Iniesta and Fabregas.
Cuenca who played his 2nd match as a starter for Barca, had a great game scored and created another goal. Adriano was great too, he was involved in 3 goals, so did Messi after 3 matches of badluck onfront of the goal, played a great game were he scored a hattrick..
very happy for the 17 year old winger 'Gerard Deulofeu' who made his official debut for Barca, great talent, he could become a star in the future if he kept working hard, great dribbler but he needs to work on his passing...
One more thing, great penalty by Messi

Re: La Liga 2011-2012 (Week #10): FCBarcelona vs Mallorca
Very good game considering that Mallorca parked the bus.
We were very clinical in front of goal.
It was interesting that we played 3-4-3 first half and switched to 4-3-3 second half.Interesting to know why Pep switched considering the 3-4-3 was working and we were leading 3-0.
Excellent game from the likes of Messi,Adriano,Alves and Busquets.
Adriano took time to find his feet for us but now he is showing how good a player he is.Excellent buy from Pep.
Alves was brilliant.Excellent cross for the Messi goal and a thunderbolt at the end.
I am extremely impressed by Cuenca.Looking at him play a neutral wouldnt know he was just playing his second gamew for us.
His play is very mature and looks very composed.Linked up well, kept it simple and tidy and took his goal very well.
Should start every Copa game.
Deulofeu was not very good.Looked nervous and didnt do much.
Still should play all the Copa games.
Villa is a worry.Messi put him through once and instead of putting his foot through the ball, tried a fancy backheel and didnt even connect.
poor game from him.Needs to get his confidence back.
Overall very happy and most importantly Xavi got a well deserved rest.

Re: La Liga 2011-2012 (Week #10): FCBarcelona vs Mallorca
Its cooler to think that he was just saying... 1, 2, 3... yeah, watch me score this hattrick.
and 10 minutes later...
Just watched the game. Interesting to see the team that played today...
1st half:
Alves was immense today, great performance from him.
As has already been said, Cuenca is fitting right in. He's had no stage fright at all and looks like another great player we've brought through. Only thing is, we've brought through lots of young talents like him that soon leave: Gio, Bojan, Gai, Jeffren, Nolito... He's got a long way to go yet, but in preseason you could already tell he was good.
Good to see we were able to perform so well without some of our key players. Mallorca weren't great though.
Fantastic to see Puyol and Pique back, its been far too long.
This rotation can only mean we'll pretty much unleash a full strength team on Pilzen.

Re: La Liga 2011-2012 (Week #10): FCBarcelona vs Mallorca
I didn't see the second half because I wanted to watch Inter vs Juventus.
In the first half I think we played a Bielsa like 3-3-1-3 with Messi having a free role and being at the center of everything.
Based on the lineup today I think it gives a much clearer indicator of what the lineup will be in the UCL match by Plzen than we usually get with Pep.
I think it will be a 3-4-3 and this will be the lineup.
Valdes
D.Alves, Mascherano, Abidal
Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta, Fabregas
Adriano/Cuenca, Messi, Villa

Re: La Liga 2011-2012 (Week #10): FCBarcelona vs Mallorca
Everyone already said everything I would have really, especially regarding the young players and some individuals.
Shame Deulofeu only entered with the game well and truly over and the game much slower, his speed would be been useful if we had more intent.
As for Alves, dont have anything to say other then the obvious. How people claim he isnt the best rightback out there or that Marcelo is worthy of comparison I can only laugh at. Both sides of game he has on lock down and his assist and goal were incredible.
Wasnt shocked to see Messi back to his very best. Knew he would respond.

My lineup prediction turned out to be all wrong which is what happens when we try to second guess Pep.
