Seems like a lack of quality everywhere for this SA side. There are some good players but none are excellent players that can play a match winning innings or a match winning over.

This should have been the tournament where Quinton De Kock announces himself as the next elite batsman from SA but he hasn't done so far.

Apart from Rabada and De Kock, there is mediocrity everywhere and all their remaining quality players are approaching the tail end of their careers. Amla, Tahir, Du Plessis are all above 35.

I think after Sri Lanka, SA have had the sharpest decline as a team..

Yea absolutely. Funnily both teams have the exact same reasons of a decline. Whereas teams like Australia, India, England were able to replace their past greats with current fantastic players, neither Sri Lanka nor SA managed to do that. Those are the sides that managed to produce GOATs like Jayasuria, De Villiers etc and currently don't have anyone even remotely as good.

I won't count out Pakistan yet to qualify for the semis. Last time they got smashed by India in a group game, they came back strongly and went on to win the champions trophy. So I guess a beating from India was what was needed to wake them up.

I just want the tournament to become more interesting from a neutral's perspective because if England lose today, there's huge doubts of them making the semis and likewise it gives an opportunity for Pakistan or Bangladesh to make it to the last 4. I want the top 4 race to be far more interesting then it already is tbh.

England are under the pump. Australia, India and New Zealand back to back, woof. These 3 games will determine whether England can win the world cup this year.

England put together their best ODI team ever and yet again they flop at a major tournament.

I appreciate the fun that Bayliss and Morgan have given us since the last World Cup, but this team's inability to adapt to different pitches and conditions is why it'll never win anything. "Keep playing our way" is great, but it's not gonna win us any trophies.

Problem is, now was the time to actually win something and we've blown it big time. Who knows what the team will be like next time.

The only thing that separates Mitchell Starc and the greats of the game is his test record. It is not quite as good as his ODI record yet.

As far as ODI's go, he's no doubt in the conversation among the greatest bowlers of all time. Unreal bowler.
