Juventus summer 2019 special
The season is almost over and with the elimination in CL, we will wrap the competitive matches this weekend by almost surely winning the scudetto at home vs Fiorentina.
The squad has been progressively renewed every summer and will be continue to undergo this reconstruction this year. Our 24 man first team was 8 players over 30, one is retiring, another one has his loan expiring, and we can only hope that Khedira will be sold or retires. At the key moment of the season we arrived with Chiellini, Mandzukic, Barzagli, Caceres, Cuadrado, Costa, Khedira and Dybala injured. Unacceptable, we have surely the worst injury record din recent years. The club needs to figure out what the hell the problem is with the training/recovery methods. Otherwise the fitness of some of this players also has to be questioned, we need to rely less on Chiellini and Cuadrado as these injuries have gotten so common.
GK: Szczesny (28), Perin (26), Pinsoglio (29) is perfect. Szczesny has totally proven himself and is an assurance in goal.No changes needed.
CB:Barzagli (37), Chiellini (34), Caceres (32), Bonucci (31), Rugani (24). This is one of the areas to fix in the summer. Barzagli is retiring as legend and Caceres is returning to Lazio after his loan expires. With only 3 CBs we need some signings. Romero (20), De Ligt (19) and Manolas (27) are the strongest links. De Ligt will likely be impossible, Romero seems like a sure deal since January and with Manolas there are strong links. I can imagine signing Romero and then leaving him on loan if Manolas also comes (unless we do back 3), or bringing him directly if he doesn't. Then recalling Caceres or finding a random old 5th CB to make up the numbers.
FB: Alex Sandro (28), De Sciglio (26), Spinazzola (26), Cancelo (24). This is great as it is and doesn't need to be touched unless Spinazzola decides to leave for more playing time or the club decides to cash in on Alex. It's a great mix of profiles with the hope that next season Cancelo learns how to defend better and Spinazzola stays fit to play regularly at his top level.
CM:Khedira (32), Matuidi (32), Pjanic (29), Can (25), Bentancur (21). Retire or sell Khedira, let him leave for free to wherever he wants as long as it's not at Juve. He died as a football player last season. Ramsey (28) replaces him and should be a clear upgrade. Matuidi simply isn't good enough to be a key player but can hang around on the bench. We've been linked a lot with NDombele (22) but I haven't seen him play so can't comment. The hype sounds good. Barella (22) is another one linked to us who could be a perfect Matuidi replacement. Last common link in midfield is Zaniolo (19) with a more attacking profile. There are rumors that Pjanic could be sacrificed as well to reform the midfield.
AM/W: Cuadrado (30),Costa (28), Dybala (25), Bernardeschi (25). This is great if the first two could remain fit. Cuadrado grew into more of a midfielder and one of our most important players, and his injury shattered our fluid play. Costa has been woefully off form and/or injured forever, 100% irrelevant 2018/19 season. Dybala did great until the last month or so, on the face of the lack of playmakers in midfield he dropped deep to make things happen between the lines. The problem is, slowly he seems to have lost confidence and in the last month has been a ghost. Tactically there are things to figure out with him on the team. The only one staying 100% is Bernardeschi. Joao Felix (19) and Chiesa (21) are the most sounded names for us in attack.
ST: Ronaldo (34), Mandzukic (32), Kean (19). A GOAT, a future phenomenon and Mario Mandzukic. No comments and no action needed.
Tl,dr: Barzagli, Khedira, Caceres and one of Costa/Dybala surely leaving. A bunch of young options linked to replace them. Exciting summer ahead.

Re: Juventus summer 2019 special
Yeah, I don't think anyone outsider like myself could really add much to this. So essentially, Jjuve need a much more dynamic and creative midfield setup and one certainly would not get that with Matuidi and Khedira. Need more reliably fit CBs over the course of an entire season. Need more reliably fit and consistent attacking midfielders. Get Dybala a shrink to talk out his issues to get back to playing well and kindly ask Allegri to stop being so scared at key moments.
The rest of the team should be fine.

Dybala can' t stay if there Is CR7
His role key in Juve ended since Mendes has taken CR to Turin
Simply they have same role and they are not compatible
So or monetize on him or burn him definitely

In this section it won't be a serious discussion, it will be only posts to troll us and say Jjuve
But honestly i overrated some players and i wouldn't mind a busy summer, it needs to be done. Tired of this roller coaster of emotions, gain confidence against Chievo, lose confidence in CL, repeat.
What i fear is CR/Mendes taking over the transfer list but maybe their ideas would be more successful.

Re: Juventus summer 2019 special
But in fact I don't believe Dybala selling would be a great loss when you ' ve Cristiano Ronaldo in that role ( 33 years just on paper )
He has good market so It 'd be smart to sell him so as to improve midfield ( Juve top midfielder Is Pjanic . Great for Serie A , but perhaps is it a problem for who wants to win Champions League ? )
Then honestly in their history Juve used to sell without problems Vialli, Vieri , Inzaghi , Zidane....

Another matter for Juve fans : are you sure about Allegri to stay?
He was confirmed by Agnelli but I don't care about words said in April , even Ancelotti was talking about his extension of contract with Juve in 2001 but after Lippi returns

Re: Juventus summer 2019 special
Market is strange right now. Not a lot of sure things out there, looking like you'll have to pillage within the league again and you always seem to do okay with that, I just don't think it will make you a CL contender. Ramsey's w/e..like you say, an upgrade so that's something to get excited about but he won't be doing much for you in the CL.
Feel like you have to try to cash in on Dybala but again..I just don't know who will buy him. Maybe you can do some convoluted trade-deal with Inter for some players + cash. No idea. But I don't see any of the big clubs in for him and willing to drop big money.
Dybala - Martial swap IMO

I'm mature enough to know when to be an ass and when to take a thread seriously. This is the latter. Unfortunately, really not that informed of every single detail of Jjuve, just know enough to get by.
Hans did ask a valid question about how much money Jjuve has to work, to which, I wonder that same thing.

I don't have the numbers, surely around the same as before which is 70 millions without selling
Elkann has opened the valves lately as you saw with Ronaldo. I have the displeasing feeling that we'll try to land Marcelo.

Re: Juventus summer 2019 special
They have wide players who can take on their man and cross the ball in Costa, Cuadrado, and Cancelo.
They have Mandzukic and Ronaldo battling for headers, with a deep run specialist in Ramsey picking up on the second balls. If you asked me to name three players who I would want attacking the ball from crosses, those three would be the first to come to mind.
If they want a presence in-between the lines they can bring on Dybala. If they need more pace and energy up front they can bring on Keane.
So I think offensively they have a good core of players going.
Midfield is the problem. They are slow and they lack technical ability. I can understand starting Matuidi because you want him to do the donkey work behind Ronaldo, but the other CM needs to be changed. Get someone who can hold on to the ball under pressure and is capable of carrying it foward. Ndombele would be a smart addition.
I'd also get another CB that is starting level. Rugani is too sawft to be playing in those big CL games, and Chiellini is getting older. If Allegri wants a more conservative FB in big games he should probably look to upgrade on De Sciglio too, another player who shouldn't be playing those big CL games.
These are a few potential lineups that came to mind. Ronaldo is at his best with a reference point up front, and with a a team behind him that can feed him crosses. Looking at those lineups again, I think Juve should also invest in another midfielder who has a good final pass on him. Someone who can add creativity from deep when the going gets tough.

Probably the same amount as every summer, last one excluded. So enough for 2 big signings not including a possible Dybala/Costa sale.
We just sold our youth players for some 50-60m, Higuain is supposed to bring another 35m. That's enough to bring Manolas/Romero plus a big midfielder. Ramsey is coming for free. Then if we sell Douglas or Dybala we can sign a replacement forward and whatever else is needed.
@Cas some of those lineups are very similar to what I see. I've maintained for some time that a back 3 suited our current situation much better (Douglas and Cuadrado injured). But I prefer a 3-4-3 that we've seen some times, with the new players.
Manolas/Rugani - Bonucci - Chiellini/Romero
Cancelo/Cuadrado - X/Ramsey - Pjanic - Alex Sandro/Spinazzola
Dybala/Berna - Mandzu/Kean - Ronaldo

Dybala/Berna - Mandzu/Kean - Ronaldo

Juves only transfer target for this summer should be Benzema. All your defensive problems will be solved with a world class DM that also makes CR play better.

It's anyone guess. First, they have to get 36 mil for Higgy. After that, the amortizations and wages of the new incomings shouldn't be much higher than those of the departed.

It looks like Allegri wants to create a midfield trio like the Milan mid-2000s with Pirlo/Seedorf/Gattuso with Pjanic as the Pirlo? Matuidi can be Gattuso So they need to sign a Seedorf

It was more a quartet than a trio since Rui Costa then Ambrosini made up the 4th midfielder. Could add Kaka in that mix if you wanna consider him a midfielder of sorts.
Basically, no, Allegri isn't trying to copy Carlo's midfield set up I reckon.

Re: Juventus summer 2019 special
Hard to predict on how they will splash after the Cristiano investment despite his colossal returns incurred and a fine capture of Ramsey despite the admittedly higher wages than deserved.
But it is definite Juventus need to invest in their midfield so Pjanic is not performing 6 roles at once. Matuidi is past it and really just running on his off-the-ball running now and not technical enough for what Allegri is going for.
Khedira is done.
Marchisio leaving was a loss.
Can in the role versus Atletico can be very useful.
Bentancur will progress into a good midfielder yet not much beyond that. No one else to even note of.
Defence is obvious with Barzagli calling it a career, Chiellini turning 35. Rugani a mental weakling and Sandro ripe to cash in.
Up front they need to cash in on Dybala who makes a story of himself all the time with his typical hot-headed volatility and still unable to find himself a role.
Juventus need a proper CF and no Mandzukic is not good enough or prolific enough, to take the burden off a CR7 who will turn 35 next February.
If this was Milan though? Galliani in 2030 (if he was still with us):"We bought you fans Cristiano Ronaldo lest you forget" as an excuse not to spend.
Luckily for Juventus their board is far more results orientated.

Ramsey is like Matuidi in the sense that he's a fraud B2B midfielder. Matuidi is an ok defender but can't play CM. Ramsey is an OK scoring threat but can't play CM.
My point is that Juve need CMs that can actually play the position.

i hope juve have plans on spending this summer as well; they should come and break bread with madrid , spend a couple of millions with us, so we too can develop our squad. i don't think we are pursuing the same targets so that's good.
