Re: Van persie is too good for arsenal.
What's the point of this troll thread? If van Persie is too good for Arsenal then Messi is too good for Barcelona, Ronaldo is too good for Real Madrid etc. He's our best player and i'm happy he's with us, apparently this 16 years old Milanfan is jealous lol.
...I just hope our board offers him a better contract financially because he deserves it.

You can have the best player in the world in your team but if you dont bring any trophies he wont be recognized the same way
people think ryan giggs is better than del piero..i.e. those who have heard of del piero and dont think its a pizza
true story.. thats 17 percent of world's population
and nobody here knows who that dude(matt le tissier) in that photo is..

1st Van persie was overrated and wasn't even good enough for any team , and now after he shuts you up with his performance you say Arsenal is not good enough for him and he needs a bigger club ??
wow that's sooo damn pathetic
Re: Van persie is too good for arsenal.
Is this true that RVP put transfer request and Arsenal rejected it? i doubt it's true, I can see him staying till summer but if Wenger doesn't buy at least 3 quality players, RVP won't renew his contract.

Doesn't matter,he's either going to stay at arsenal and lose or leave to a big club.

dutch players don't do that generally, RVP did not do that
but there is a possibility of him leaving cuz Wenger is one spineless man

He clearly loves the club, but every player in the world has the right to win, especially a very talented player like RVP.

Trolling aside I agree with Cyber here, advancing your career is natural for any top player so while most would agree RVP is a great, many neutrals would hesitate to really put him at the top of the footballing pyramid if he wasn't competing for top honours in England and Europe.
Having said that it does seem Van Persie actually cares about the crest on his kit so that might out weight everything else.
But what more can he do? I agree that at Club Level, he could be at a more... determined... club, but at International level he was just in a WC final and is poised to have a great Euro campaign. But it is hard to argue about his legacy if he is not consistently fighting for honours at both club and international level bc at the end of the day, players are remembered by ppl (in a broad sense) for their honours.
Sorry for the late reply.
I more or less agree with you but with international football your contribution isn't truly remembered unless you have a glory moment. For example for Spain Iker had a 1v1 save in the final, Iniesta scored the winner. Those two will be remembered more fondly imo. I remember Ramos missing a free header, he was the best right back at the tournament by a long way, had he scored people would have remembered that but since he didn't it won't be brought up.
Van Persie is a fantastic footballer but he didn't have a glory moment yet. Snejider's came against Brazil, Robben against Uruguay etc.
It's seems obvious at this point if Van Persie decides to have a long term career at Arsenal he'll be a club legend and he would have earned it but like I said the problem is if you don't at least consistently show up at the later stages of big tournaments it's hard for people to remember you.
It's a shame but it's the nature of the beast I'm afraid.
But who knows Zico played for Flamengo almost his whole career and he's a legend despite not winning the world cup. If you can reach crazy levels of performance then maybe you can be remembered.

Re: Van persie is too good for arsenal.
Arsenal are a very big club, their transfer policy holds them back but one bad year doesn't mean their top man should desert them.
If they neglect to bring in top players in the summer then it might be a different story.

mate, don't flatter Arsenal
the past 4 years at Arsenal have been like reading a textbook,
step1: Arsenal find a groove first half of the season
step2: players with injuries from the season before spread the injury virus to other players and it gets worse
step3: Wenger refuses to buy replacement in January transfer window
step4: Teams figure out how to play us,( arsenal won't do anything to change it)
step5: fans complain but nothing would happen
step6: season ends trophyless Wenger goes on his yearly speech
speech: " I think der boys have got some kwalitee and we wiuld be fighting for der premiexship next season"
step 7: good players leave when they see the club lacks ambition
Step8: rinse and repeat

Yeah I know where you are coming from. Wenger even frustrates me with his stubborn ways.
But surely next summer Wenger WILL buy and buy well.

I doubt it mate, we all know he would wait to last day ,
what frustrate we gooners now is not even buying anymore, its wenger's tactical midgetness .. he can't make proper subs, anymore.

Re: Van persie is too good for arsenal.
Cant see RVP leaving arsenal for a long time.
They have been good to him over the years when he has had problems with injuries.
Doesn't come across as a Cesc type player crying for a move.
And no player is too big for any club
