Defence and Midfield is average at the very best and the attack is no better than what Barca and Madrid has.

anyway we wouldn't have canales and soldado if silva and villa stayed, it would be something like

guaita - pereira, albiol, mathieu, alba - albelda, banega - i$co, silva, mata - villa

aaaaand i'm depressed

moal that average midfield has been shitting over barcelona's midfield pretty regularly

That midfield contains 3 Top 10 AM's, Banega is probably a Top 5 'controller' and Villa was arguably the best striker in the World before Messi killed off his career.

They would most definitely compete for the title especially if they had someone like Benitez or Pellegrini managing them.

Pretty sure Gil is talking about right now and right now Ozil and Benzema are streets ahead of Villa and Silva.

So yeah i would rather Madrid's attack.

As for better than Banega.... Alonso, Xavi, Iniesta, Martinez, Schweignsteiger, Gundogan, Busquets, Gerrard, Pirlo, Vidal, Hamsik, Yaya, Marchisio, De Rossi, Kroos, Wilshere, Montolivo, Carrick, Pizarro and Hernanes.

He might be more talented than some of them.... but hardly ever shows it.

Face it if he was good as claimed he wouldn't even be at Valencia considering the money troubles big clubs would have snapped him up ages ago.

He's just not consistent enough to be rated on any type of pedestal.

Isco, Silva, Mata and Villa would have been an excellent attack, a real terror for most of La Liga including those 2. Their midfield would have been their Achilles heel though. Banega, Parejo and Abelda isn't as meaty as what Valencia once had. Their defense is decent, I mean, you don't get an Ayala and Canizares all the time.

With a manager that can instill some sort of consistency within them, they would challenge La Liga with that squad. Remember, Valenica only faces Barcelona and Real Madrid twice a season, still have 34 matches to get points.

Amazes me just how much people underrate Banega on here.

As it stands, the only players I'd take over him that can perform in that controller role are Schweinsteiger, Busquets, Gundogan, Pirlo & Gerrard (based on this season).

Banega is a solid footballer, great with the ball and probably would be more rated if he were playing for Dortmund or a Serie A side. I just think him and Parejo seems too flimsy for a midfield. If Abelda were younger, definitely work.

Alonso even though he has declined is still one of the best DLPs in the world. Carrick and Matuidi have been the best midfielders in their respective leagues. Pizarro I agree, but he is not that far off from Banga.

That defence is awful...Mathieu is a Left-Back and Albiol has turned into shite...Ronaldo and Messi/Neymar would destroy Alba and Pereira hasn't had that good a season.Albelda has lost it,and I'm not even sure 3

PlAymakers would work together since 2 Playmakers sometimes doesnt work.Also Villa is the only guy in that team that'd score more than 10/15 goals a season.Mess of a team that could like reach QF's consistently in CL but wouldn't break into the Top 2 in La Liga.
Also are we talking of right now or when they were at Valencia?Because if we're basing this on their time at Valencia then that'd be basically like an all time list Very Happy

You could even Put Marquez-Chgriginsky-Hleb-Thiago-Cesc on the bench.

Looks so much better doesn't it;same goes for Madrid.

the points is that valencia have had some of the best spanish talent of this generation pass through the club, all signed through dilligent scouting and/or homegrown production, but had to give it up because we're financially *bleep*, which is quite different to saying "we sold players too lel"

and for what it's worth mathieu has been fantastic as a cb and pereira has had a great season
