How many times are Watford going to ruin a good position with a terrible shot from an ill advised angle/distance?

Said Watford are relegation tier and here I am at the end of the game saying that Arsenal are incredibly lucky to get a point out of that.

Hapless_Hans wrote:They'll find a way to blame this on Özil playing

Can't say he helped. Luxury player to the max. Toreira or Willock start instead of Ozil and I think it's a much easier game for Arsenal. Ozil had one moment of magic fair play to him but otherwise did nothing on defense and did even less on offense. Feel so bad for the Arsenal midfield when Pepe and Ozil do absolutely nothing pressing wise (or even position-wise) up front. Auba at least presses when it makes sense and drops back to nick a ball or two, no shame for him.

Quite frankly that's the worst Arsenal performance I've seen in years, and there have been plenty of bad performances.

Watford shots: 31, 16 on target. xG = 2.83

Arsenal shots: 7, 5 on target. xG = 1.01

Ball spent 31.3% of the time in the Arsenal third, vs 18.1% in Watford's third.

Incredible

Bernardo was a rotation option in his first season lol and was benched for like every big game. He didn't even become a starter until KDB got injured then he got a run of games in midfield. When KDB came back, Pep realized Bernardo had to start every game regardless so he moved him back to RW.

Emery leaving three attackers up the pitch like he has Messi/Neymar/Suarez and expecting his midfield to do all the dirty work. rofl

Emery was a mistake. After a year, a manager should have some idea of how he wants his team to play and ideally be showing signs of progress, but Arsenal are just consistently mediocre under the guy. Before you even get into the stats, his teams just don't look right at all. Too much space between the midfield and attack in every phase of the game, an insistence on playing it out despite having neither the talent or structure to do it properly, and zero defensive organisation. If Arsenal didn't have a striker of Aubameyang's quality they'd be mid-table.

Pepe's going to flop at this rate, too. He looks lost in this team.

Give it to Freddie Ljungberg to the end of the season imo.

Lol this.

I am not sure where the revisionism is coming from but bernardo was a squad player because he was struggling to adapt to being what Pep wanted him to be in his first season. Just read his thread ffs

B. Silva was obviously great for everyone who watched him. Competing with established KDB and David Silva is something else, he still delivered.

yeah Silva looked good but was used sparingly if I recall, ppl were calling Pep out for it but he was saying Bernardo had to adapt to how he wanted him to play, I vividly recall being salty that Bernardo looked good and that Pep seemed to have no use for him and was complaining that he only signed him because otherwise we would have ffs

He actually did send in his resume to Madrid when his stock was a bit high during his time at Espanyol. Rumour has it, it is still there on top the fax machine.

The way things are going, Tammy is going to score 15 goals this season, at least.

He has shown enough all round quality for Lampard to keep faith in him, and goals will come. Even if he hits bad form for a while.

So assuming he doesn't get injured, he'll play 30+ games more this season and scored at least 15 goals.

That is enough to keep him at the club next season which will be the deciding season, imo. If he keeps his spot over whoever we sign, then I think he'll make it, if not, he'll be a decent squad option at the least.

Also, The difference between him and Michu, is age. Tammy is still young and has been improving every season, almost every loan has been a success and his goal numbers have been consistant. Michu was an utter flash in the pan.
