Please don’t ever compare Thibu to this fraud. De Gea makes so many mistakes that leads to goals, it’s ridiculous. That’s what makes him a poor GK, specially when you get past his « style », you realize he is not good

Sometimes I wonder if that incident was the prime catalyst to De Gea's downfall? Maybe when the transfer failed, his motivation went down and couldn't recover?

Because prior to that moment, he was an absolute elite goalkeeper, and he had been for a couple seasons prior. What factor can make a player's level plummet so fast and not recover? Other than psychological or injury, I can't think of any tbh.

United suck at playing proactively because of someone like him. He’s glued to his line and offers nothing on the ball. Combine that with Maguire’s awful recovery pace and it’s no wonder they have such comical defending.

They’ve added a 5’7 CB to the mix now too LMAO.

Martinez from Ajax is a Ten Haag signing so he has to start him. Maguire is an England international and team captain (i think)... so his benching is mostly politics.

That will end soon with all the awful defending. They need Varane's pace.

Varane just needs to get games to find his rhythm and then, most importantly, stay healthy. Easily the best defender for United (not saying much grant you).

Nope, his mistakes don't make him a 'poor goalkeeper'.
The problem with De Gea is not his mistakes but his severe and horrible lack of aerial command and defensive leadership as well his utter lack of ability to sweep and his horribly inert positioning, combined with poor on the ball skills.

He's only a great and reliable shot stopper. Ultimately, that's not quite enough.
