That's not true, having followed him a lot... his brother was, not him. He was the shy kid that always played football. Never got into any trouble whatsoever which is why he isn't going to face jail time even in the worse case scenario as i posted above. At worse, it would be a suspended sentence and probation.

Hernandez had a massive police track record as a kid.

And that's the crux of the case btw... the police are trying to see if Benz was trying to force Valbuena into dealing with the blackmailers or was he simply offering Valbuena a solution to deal with it as a friend. Why in the heck would he force Valbuena. All he did was tell Valbuena that he may have someone who could help if he needed it.

If Valbuena wasn't a friend of his, i don't think he'd have gotten involved. In retrospect, he shouldn't have.

this is my take. people are surprised how can a multi-millionaire still be linked with shady characters. well i assume benzema didn't come from a rich background. he's the son of immigrant parents (someone clarify, i don't know if he's parents were born in france or migrated), and was probably friends with most of these guys at a young age. these are the guys who probably champion him as "the guy who plays ball in our neighborhood" . once again, i don't believe benzema is some mafioso drug lord, he may not even hang with these guys on a daily basis. he's just that guy who could play ball while his friends hustled

but once the police open a case on you and review your profile, background, personal details, if they find someone they've been looking to pin for quite some time, and they see as little as a picture of you and the person at a party that you can't even remember you took, they'll look to get any and every info they can on your relationship, mainly to get you to tell on what you know, and in most cases the athletes know very little, most times the athletes are actually being extorted by these suspects who were their friends...its the job of the police to search any and everything. no evidence is too little

lol driving without a license isn't a big deal . for us normal folks it is, but celebrities always think they can get away with the "do you know who i am, here's my autograph", especially somewhere like madrid, where star players are probably the biggest celebs. this would definitely be a big deal. nos 3, 4 and 5.

I dismissed this story initially, but the more we hear, this is starting to get serious, esp when our French expert says that his brother is involved with these blackmailers! Valbuena is his friend. As simple as that. They are not allowing Valbuena to speak otherwise he would have already said something to support Benzema. when Djibril was in a similar situation weeks ago, he thanked him for his help.

Benzema had approached Valbuena, his friend, and recommended to him to not give into the blackmail. Here's the transcript of Benz talking to his childhood friend about the affair:

Benz - I told him that i don't give a crap about the buzz... If you've warned your family and they don't care... let the facts come out i told him.

Benz' friend - Sure. Even i would have told him that.

Benz - We're here to help him (Valbuena). If he doesn't want it... he can deal with these piranhas himself!

The prosecutor's office earlier confirmed that Mr Benzema was now under formal investigation for complicity in attempted blackmail and participation in a criminal conspiracy.
