@TheVoice, do you really care about games against the likes of Rayo or some other home game against scrubs???

Lets see how many big games we played last season. Correct me if you think am wrong but these are the usual tough games for us

Copa and League

Valencia x 2

Did not play the first game which was away and we won. Was awful in the second

Atleti x 4

Does any of them need explaining?

Barcelona x 3

Again awful but scored the decisive goal in the final by outsprinting Maldini's heir Bartra

Osasuna away

Awful- subbed out because he was so chit

Sevilla away

Awful

Levante away

Did not play and we won

LaReal away

Played as a striker iirc. Scored

Bilbao

Did not play-we drew

Juve x 2

Scored in the away game but played poor

Dortmund x 2

Scored in the home game. Played decent. Awful in the second leg

Bayern x 2

Played without Bale in the first leg and got that important goal before he came on. Played good in the second leg

Atleti



This is a guy we splashed 100 million on I might add. Just like this season we were better when he wasn't playing. Won all the tough away matches

So please tell me why my statement is young. If we needed someone to help us beat Rayo and the likes we would probably promote players from our b team

Now he wasnt the only poor player tonight. But this is a tough game were you absolutely CANNOT afford to be selfish. He hasnt grasped that yet though

If you think that Gareth Bale wasn't a major catalyst behind last seasons success then that's fair enough.

Bale has been **** this season, but that does not take away his contributions of last season. No Bale, no copa, no decima.

@the voice, transfermarkt can be useful sometimes , tbf I have no problem with bale as a striker because he has those strikers instincts to pop up and score decisive goals every now and again. Him as a winger/midfielder however, ugh no. Poor on the ball, bad understanding with the RB, nowhere to be seen when Carvajal has the ball, the classic runs out of play or a poor cross with his right and last but not least solo runs and shots that makes you want to gargle with disgust.

He is a very very poor version of Ronaldo who is also selfish, has poor crosses and tries to run solo down his flank when he is better off letting someone like Marcelo do that. The only reason Ronaldo doesn't get as much criticism is because the 5 great seasons he has given us. I remember Ronaldo was hated alot in his first/second year but people have warmed up to him now so let performances like tonight slip because the high level he has given us over the year. Bale is going through the same now only he won score 50 odd goals a season like Ronaldo. But if he played striker and scored those goals I am sure more people would appreciate him myself included

Everyone is harsh on bale because we know he can play very, very well. His first few months were something else, the goals were good, but his overall play was outstanding. He took advantage of his strengths (crossing, set pieces, speed) and let the rest be simple. In fact, bale was a key reason of our rejuvenation last season, where we started off pretty slow. This season he has been so, so bad. No explanation. The amount of turn overs he has is comical. Jese was bad today but he played much better then bale.

it's obvious bale cant fit in this season system, he just no technically gifted enough for possesion play. only looks good when we rely on counter attacking last season.

for a 100m players, he should be able to evolve with it, or atleast find a way to make himself useful.

not just blindly tried hard and screw up.

Don't know about you guys but everything about that match reminded me of the La Real loss earlier in the season. Every. Single. Thing.

Bale would probably see some bench time now though.
