Hazard needs to make the next step instead of fooling around in the rich man's Conference National before he can be talked about as a serious footballer.

Not sure about proving himself in La Liga. But he can't reach his potential when he plays Left Back in all the big fixtures. Mou's POB & Counter attack tactics is holding him back.

PSG should be a good indicator. Will he be over shadowed by Cesc/Costa/Oscar "More Creative than Mozart" Emboaba Júnior or play to he potential.

I think I agree here to this point on second thought. But then again, hazard seeing the way he plays right now, its more likely he will be fine there if he get the chance.

Hazard is good. The fact is that Mou has changed the balance of his team to bring out his best and yet he still isn't as influential as he could be imo. There won't be another Messi in my lifetime. Hazard should focus on being the best he can be for the team rather than trying to emulate the best attacking player in the last 3 and a half decades.

Hazard, player who would never score even if his salvation depended on it. You hear their fans bashing other players for scoring goals like there's some sort of negative to scoring goals, the very essence of the game itself and the clutchest thing a player can produce in a game. You equally hear fan boys saying things like "but he had the most attempted dribbles per game" "but he is being the most fouled player" or his given the most passes in the 18" I mean, like seriously? Just take a look at ronaldo, messi, neymar, robben (recently), aguero, and to some extent bale at Tottenham..they regularly produce the goods, even if some aren't even leading men for their sides or cfs..
Hazard, while being a good player, would never get to a world class level (yeah, I know that term is bastardized now), or even elite level if he doesn't tweak or change his game to the levels required of today's absolute top players. Otherwise he's at the level of guys like gotze.
So, hazard should free himself of those excuses (most fouled player, most completed dribbles in the bigger half of the field , most this and most that) he usually likes to hide behind and man up to start doing the most important things in the game like those top players he so much compares himself with always do.
Messi, for all his perfection, still, is better at scoring goals than any other part of his game.
TLDR- its like in the Olympics where a country who has 1 GOLD , 0 silver & 0 bronze tops whichever country that has 0 GOLD 100 silver and 100 bronze. My point is that there are some things that will always be better, timeless, greater, incomparable, more clutch, more important than the others. no matter how much we try to coin it.

He doesn't need to score 40 goals a season to become world class in his career. you can't judge a player negatively by placing unfair expectation on him.

Spot on. People here are just deluded though. The Americanisation of the sport is complete. Stats mean everything now. Zidane would be a scrub in this era tbh. Farce.

The only thing Hazard would need to do validate himself is take over in the KO stages of the CL, as does Neymar, Suarez and Aguero btw.

All the leagues are meh, CL KOs are all that matters when evaluating the elite.

I don't disagree with Nick's actual point but how is Hazard a midfielder "unlike Messi"? Messi averages 62 passes per game, 10th most in La Liga but 4 of those ahead of him are defenders. Only 7 passes less per game than Kroos who is Madrid's deepest midfielder.
