At this point I'd honestly prefer Kuz back there.He's more responsible in positioning,better at distributing the ball and certainly a calmer presence.

Guarin is obviously far more physical,has better defensive attributes generally but the mentality is all wrong for a pivot,especially paired with Medel.If he could just sit back,don't do anything risky and play it calm I'd go for it,but can he sustain himself?I doubt it...

Yes, I agree. and Guarin can be useful as difference maker in 2nd half if the situation is not good , we haven't Osvaldo and probably Shaqiri is not fit to play

The last time I've seen us create and exploit space like this was 2010...Vidic keeping Matri in his pocket so far.Genoa generally invisible,we are playing excellent.Let's hope it stays that way.Still very rough around the edges,especially Guarin.Decision making is is his great weakness,such a capable player yet so stupid.

Hernanes completely ineffective on the wing,although he did get the corner assist for Icardi.Would rather have him and Palacio switch places,or have Shaqiri in there soon.

yes, he played even well his first years at Stuttgart

about Podolski , he doesn't keep 90 minutes, infact he played a bit this year. He needs to be fit and so Mancini was right to keep him for 90  minutes so as to recuperate athletic condition, but when  he was fit he was legit in these 2 matches, I appreciated him in first half

same thing Shaqiri , he didn't play much this year as you know better than me so he will need to get the best athletic condition

Dreadful half...

No movement,can't string 3 passes together,D'Ambrosio still can't cross and Hernanes is ridiculously ineffective on the wings.

Empoli is tactically sound,no space between lines,pressing well,move as a unit.However they've probably spend a lot of energy while we've hardy broken a sweat.I expect things to start moving our way more in the second half...And eager to see Kovacic and Shaqiri.

Hernanes' career is gonna spiral downwards quickly unless he starts getting proper treatment rather than being used like a versatile utility player.

I'm usually a lurker in these forums and decide to post maybe twice a year, but I just had to comment on this performance. We had no attack, and just one chance in the 2nd half. We were parking the bus against a recently promoted Empoli for almost all of the 2nd half.

Hernanes gives away possession way too many times and being super ineffective, I get frustrated seeing him play. We were struggling to get any attacking play going and yet Mancini was still just watching instead of subbing in Shaqiri and Kovacic ASAP.

Frustrating game.

Top 3 worst matches this year.
Perhaps just Parma was worse than today.
I saw often playing Empoli this year so I am not surprised about their performance, I wrote it in Serie A thread before of match , I excepcted a match very tough but well I didn't image we 'd suffred so much.
Basically our athletic condition is awful . I 'd like to ask some questiones to Mazzarri about it ...
When we face a team who carries out an intense pressing we aren't able to do something. we can't have a reaction.
It happended against Juve, but Juve did it only in first half and so we could tie in 2nd half, this time Empoli carried out this pressing for 90 minutes s and we looked this shit.
2 steps back after match against Genoa, what we did good against Genoa it looks like deleted now, we 've a problem of inconsistency

i agree, after that Genoa game, I gained a little faith in Mancini and more importantly the Inter players (as at this point, you can not put the blame on the manager anymore). However everytime progress looks likely, we suffer the next game. We were lucky not to lose.

Our new signings are still 1 to 2 weeks in though, so i have hope that once they are integrated into the team they will help Inter.

Although I don't know what they are really going to help us reach, as CL is out of reach and EL is not taken seriously. Maybe we can win the Europa and use that path to reach the CL haha.

I'm also unhappy with Mancini putting Palacio in the hole and Hernanes on the wing...What's up with that?We have Kovacic and Hernanes,perfect fit for that position and Kovacic is benched while Hernanes is out of position.I don't get it...
