Limiting Signature Size

Sorry, DeviAngel, nothing against you, but your Signature is f*cking ridiculous.

I propose some limit on Signature size, most forums have it. I don't want to have a fashion police here, but if you have three large pics underneath each other, instead of next to each other, I'm scrolling more for signatures than for content.

I always feel cheated when I read a post that is shorter than the user's signature and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in that.

It's not even that I mind big pics, but can we just have some kind of limit? Like only 500px height for example? That way anybody can still have one rather large signature pic, but I don't have half my screen full of one sig. And I don't want to disable all signatures, because I do like them, and it helps me immediatly recognize the posts of known users.

And this has been an issue to me for a while, but that half-screen of Devi Angel was too much
Really nothing personal, just made me think of that point.

Just discuss it amongst mods and admins if you got the time, pretty much all forums I know got some kind of limit on this, and there's a reason for it. Forum posts should primarily consist of content, not filler

It's been discussed by we haven't found a place in the Admin panel that allows for it. It's either all sigs, or none.

RG tried that once, Legend. Didn't work for some reason. Might work with the changes they've made since, but I think we'll wait until RG is back to try anything like that again.

Well, we could ask the users nicely to comply with a sane size and if they don't comply just manually resize the sigs they use in their profile. The question would be how much butthurt that might cause. ^^

I'd suggest a max size of 700x200 pixels - that is still pretty huge, but would hopefully be a sane compromise.

We tried that for a while. It's more work than you might expect and it's hard to enforce a uniform size (besides, not sure we can even edit a fellow Admin's stuff).

Well, as an admin I'd hope Devi is understanding enough to change the sig himself. I'll volunteer to help him edit it, if necessary.

Meh, I might not use sigs myself, but they should always be allowed, to be honest. Sigs are great, as long as they're not too big.

I support any type of limit on sig size, given it's reasonable. I do agree with Viva some are a bit...a bit too large/excessive.

Just turn sigs off. Browsing is much simpler.
