Is it possible the limit is increased a little? Having 150x200 limited to 64kb is very low tbh, ideally the limit should be anything under 100 or so. Whats the chances of this?

you can add whatever size avatar you want, just post the image URL into the Link to an off-site Avatar form and it wont resize it
